Hello to all!
I've got a pinhole leak towards the side-rear of the fuel pump. I discovered it while doing the warm-up and walk around, and it put out maybe 2 cups of fuel in the 5 minutes it was idling.
I was running out of both time and daylight and neglected to get any pictures, but I...
Hi Will,
As usual ... great info! I owe you a steak dinner!!! :smile:
After you pointed it out, I do feel a slight difference between #3 and #4. I'm gonna do some more digging, I'll let you know what we find.
Thanks.
MAnders.
A little more history of my ownership ...
I purchased this vehicle from the JBLM branch of GovLiq in Fall 2013, and it came from W8BA UTES of the Oregon National Guard. It showed 24035 miles when I bought it, and 24370 now. (Like the proverbial little old lady ... I only drive it to the market...
More info, some good, some confusing ...
We got the pan dropped and there is nothing but near-microscopic metal particles, i.e., no big chunks of liner material, o-rings, etc., just some small pieces of silicone gasket sealer, which I didn't think too much of, seeing as it was used to join the...
You are correct, I briefly mentioned in my original post that I haven't yet dropped the oil pan, but I'm gonna find the time to do that any day now ... :wink:
The original diagnosis was performed by a heavy truck diesel shop in North Bend, but the rate he quoted to prepare a "complete" diagnosis...
Thank you for sending that thread link. I successfully fought the urge to jump to the last page, and was very happy to see citizen-activism working the way it should! :)
What was the final resolution of this? I have an M923A0 registered WA as a Collector vehicle and as I'll soon be moving to ID ... I'm curious what sort of trouble I can look forward to ... :wink:
Would that be the Cummins data plate attached to the engine below the power steering reservoir? If so, I'm gonna need a strong pair of reading glasses ... ;-}
I was able to drive it to the mechanic, and aside from what I ***thought*** was a slightly louder than normal diesel 'clunking', there was a decent amount of blow-by coming out of the crankcase breather tube once I stopped.
When the mechanic drained the oil, it looked like malted milkshake, so...
Hello to all!
Long story short ... a handful of back-to-back lengthy out-of-town work assignments had my truck sitting for too long, and when I finally got around to givin' it a little love, I ended up with coolant in the oil. It was discovered during a "routine" fluids change, and the mechanic...
I created an rfq on both uShip and VeriTread, but mostly right now the only companies responding are brokers. I've got my fingers crossed that I get lucky with someone dead-heading ...
Thanks!
Hello to all;
I'm relocating from the Wet West to the Dry East :wink: but my truck is not currently drive-able that far; I've got liner holes or maybe some cracks that's putting coolant in the oil. I can drive it on/off a lowboy, but anything further than that is just asking for trouble. :(...
