Is this LOW FLYING thread a CONTEST???

If it is, then i think I WON ! ! !

Caught these C-130's flying BELOW SEA LEVEL at the DEAD SEA.

(Quoting from the MV SPOTTED thread.)
Saw these two Israeli C-130's flying in loose formation over the DEAD SEA the day we visited there last week.

Bear in mind that the DEAD SEA is 1200 ft BELOW SEA LEVEL. The altimeters in these birds were probably reading NEGATIVE NUMBERS !!!

At about the same time, three separate pairs of fighters also tracked the same direction, but much higher and faster.

I guess that we got to ask mutt_kahuna if there is a contest and prizes:

- But I got a real nice award you can have just in case he gives you the nod!

We're ready:

Here's a fun ride over the Boreal forest, not far from Fort Mcmurray. It is Pilots Point of View PPOV in the F105, shot in the 80's by the looks of the quality.
The good music starts after 5:00.
The Ride of the Valkyries, by Wagner, doesn't rank good!? Brother, that might be one of the top 5 recognizable pieces of music worldwide, it's not THAT bad is it?

Is that the Al-Can that they're flying along?

We're all guessing a bit however it is most likely just one of the roads in the 1.6 million acre Cold Lake Air Weapons range.

http://esask.uregina.ca/entry/cold_lake_primrose_lake_air_weapons_range_4_wing.html

It's been used for all kinds of testing and training and is most famous for accepting and capturing the cruise missile. http://wayback.archive-it.org/2217/...heritage.ca/aviation/history/cruise_test.html

This one made a low pass, too low. https://news.google.com/newspapers?...AIBAJ&sjid=MQYEAAAAIBAJ&pg=7118,3898065&hl=en

.....and Cold Lake will be hosting airshows again so why don't you kids get a convoy going and come up and visit us. http://www.coldlakeairshow.com/

I think we've seen most of these before, especially the second one which is not a low pass. It is a new compilation so a good video on a rainy day. Sonic Booms included.

Thanks for the Podington vid!

At :55 it shows a Cletrac M2 Medium High Speed Tractor doing what they do best ----. May have been called out to use it's air compresser to help inflate lifting bags to get the B17 back on it's feet---then probably towed it to the hard stand.
They were very popular with the ground crews during the war--very useful.

There is another Podington video that shows 2 Cletracs' side by side, towing another B17 that ended up out in the hedgerows after landing long. The title is "B17 1944 being towed from a corn field at Podington Airbase Bedfordshire UK WWII"
