Was doing some reading a few weeks ago and found out how important the dog bone ends are. Mine were in horrible shape.
Shortly after, Daisy was on blocks for the replacement. Since I had the wheels off I repacked the bearings(again) and adjusted the brakes. I also took a peek at my trunnions and ended up doing a minor service on them.
Since I work and play with the truck and have no plans on selling it, I went with the ball-joint style ends for the dog bones. Also end up having to get new U-bolts after teardown.
While I was messing with the truck in the shop, my girlfriend washed, scuffed, and painted the wheels
, and we got it all bolted back together with a week to spare before the Haspin Rally. Still might add some backup lights if time allows...
Really hoping she holds up otherwise!
Almost forgot to mention the custom "bridge plate" my stepdad made as a gift.
He's been finding excuses to play with his new CNC machine, and I've no complaints with the results
