Got the doors and mirrors put back on bur still need to oil them up. Also threw one of my 1919s up top for a ride into town. Unfortunately that ammo can came down and I rolled over it. Waste of a good ammo can, going to have to get some straps.

It's been hibernating for over a year... figured I should at least get its juices flowing.

~35*... started right up....no hesitation.. didn't even have batteries on a charger/maintainer.

That spin on oil filter kit has oil pressure up immediately, and it's great.

Started rust repair for a repaint. I’ll put a build thread together soon. I have been ordering parts in the meantime and this beauty just showed up. My OCD would not let me install a generic weights and dimensions plate and unable to find a General Products Division plate, Mike Virilli of Big Mike’s Motor Pool had a custom data plate made and I thought I would share it here like a proud father!View attachment 887997

For data plates I always look to Eastern Surplus and TNJ Murray. I believe Eastern Surplus purchased the entire inventory of Dataplates.net when they shut down. They both have data plates for older vehicles and I would think there's a decent chance they have some of the ones you need.

I was doing my first oil change and fuel filter change and noticed that while the previous owner told me there was no power steering, I do see an hydraulic actuator on the driver side wheel pumping into a horizontal actuator to actuate the right side. It seems to require some kind of fluid and have not had a chance yet to figure how to top it off and with what fluid. Not sure which type of steering I am dealing with.

Suffice to say steering is a bit of a workout.

That looks like the standard air assist unit to me. No fluid required. Just air from the compressor. Is there an air cylinder down on the front axle?

I will check but it makes sense. When I do parking maneuvers I hear air bleed valves opening and releasing air. I was wondering if it was due to shifting but might have to do with steering back and forth.

I opened the door and saw a little water on the transmission hump, realized there must be a hole in the roof, went up and sealed it with a dab of silicone .

That's what I did last week .

Here's what I'm going to be doing, but I don't know what week it will be preferably a warmer week .

After replacing all of the filters last summer for the first time since I've owned the truck, I encountered several problems .

One of which is now the oil filters leak, I believe that c&c did not give me the correct O-rings for the Deuce, but it's water under the bridge meow, I will be converting to spin-ons because they leak all over the place, plus this will give me oil pressure considerably sooner on Startup .

Only the 5-ton M39-series and M809-series make air noises when shifting the tranny
