It is widely recommended as a preventive maintenance action when injectors may have air in them, causing one or more cylinders to not be fed and fueled properly. Trapped air and poor fueling can destroy an engine; in the case of gas engines I had a classmate who ran out of gas and her mechanic lied about bleeding the injectors, she made it about 4 more weeks on that engine before it crapped out. Tough lesson for a college student on a strict budget. Diesels are different beasts, but nonetheless bleeding is a good idea.i put in 5 gallons and it fired right up after cranking it a few times. It ran fine when i went to get fuel and then for 20 miles after that.
Should i still bleed it? What is balancing the fuel feed?
iv been good for 2 years with filling up once a month and not having an issue but i should put in the updated sender.
also i bought a 5 gallon can to keep in it just in case, dont want to do that again.
Bleeding the fuel system is also recommended after changing fuel filters and so on, anything that disturbs fuel flow.
It shouldn't take but a half hour, and you might be surprised. If you've never bled the fuel system, you could be getting less power than designed.
