What have you done to your JEEP today

Well I passed a big milestone today.
The PTO is assembled and installed into the jeep and does PTO things correctly. The output shaft spins when it should and doesn't spin when it shouldn't.
I had about 2hrs of free time today before work so I rushed out to the shop to try and get the PTO assembled and installed on the jeep.
First step was to cut the chain to length. This went easily enough as I kept a chain cutter from my motorcycle days. Once cut to length, I had to thread the chain onto the sprockets and instert the new master link.
'
Then I installed the new oil seal on the PTO output shaft. It was simply pushing it over the input shaft into its home with a little RTV to keep it secure.
After that was compleete, I uninstalled the circular cover which covers the transfer case opening (just give bolts so it was super easy).
Then came the mounting PTO.

I kept the housing split for ease of installation (plus I didn't want to drop a mounting screw into the closed housing). The first time I tried to install it, I found two issues. One, the PTO housing interefered with my E-brake rod. Two, I wasn't able to get the PTO mechanism inside the transfer case hole due to the bend in the shift lever. (I couldn't move the unit up enough to clear the lip of the trasnfer case). I removed the hand brake rod and shift lever then got it in place.

Once I installed the mounting bolts (with locktite) I attached the other half of the housing and got it all bolted down. Then I (re)installed the shifter lever and top cover plates. Currently up to 4 shift levers in the jeep. If I ever spend the $$$ for an OD, I can increase that count to 5.
I may find another solution for the e-brake or I may just leave it off entirely if it's going to be a PITA just to have a handbrake I'll never use.
I still need to fill the PTO with lubricant. I'm thinking I may just use JD corn-head grease as it's thicker than normal oil but less viscious than true grease and does flow/settle around the housing.

Next step is to get some THICK angle iron cut and drilled for winch mounting. That might be...interesting....as I only have a hacksaw for cutting, but I have time and muscles, right?

One future issue I can see, is the routing of the winch driveshaft. The PO installed a DIY/home-brew exhaust system on the jeep which blocks the drive-shaft access area.
But that's a problem for future me. Winch first then I'll fix the exhaust with the correct setup.
