    Battery Relocation

And here are the last two pics. Note that the top battery box does not slide all the way in. Numbnut (me) did not follow the directions to a T and I installed the slave receptacle wrong. I clocked it 90 degrees and all fits fine now. So after that, I finished my flush of the transmission...

    Battery Relocation

OK, the project is complete. The following are the latest pics. These four pics show how the battery cables are mounted to the buss bars and how they lay in the box. All new cables are included in the kit. These pictures show how the batteries mount in the battery boxes, and then in the...

One can all winter???? Wow, that's a lot of ether use. I think my can will last me my entire life! And there is a spare mounted under the hood. Two lifetimes! Al Jones '84 M925

    Dash Light Bulbs

You want to be careful. Someone replaced the bulbs in my M923 with something nonstandard (not per the TM) and they melted the plastic covers. It was a MESS to disassemble them and fix (cover melted into socket) - had to replace two of the sockets. Plus, I had to find the correct covers (mine...

    Battery Relocation

I did a bad thing and left the master on after doing some electrical diagnosis on my M923. I think it's a PITA having those batteries under the seat in my M923 when it comes to working on them. Here are shots of the box all rusty 'n such.:p Nice of Minot to install a new box and wood before...

    TMs and Articles.

All the tech articles are gone and even the TM's are stale. I wonder if all that good stuff will ever get reposted and/or the TM's updated...? Thanks for posting it here.

    Vinyl Cargo Cover installation instructions.

These instructions are not in the TM section. Any chance the old resources section is out there or can anyone PM me that has them? Thanks.

M923A1 Allison Hard downshift into 1st

It's interesting. My M923 used to downshift firm but not harsh. I noticed that it does have a new modulator installed. I swapped out the 10 weight motor oil for Dex III and it's downshifts pretty nice now.

    M923 Maintenance Questions

If I use my high pressure grease gun, I can see grease start to come out from between the cap and knucke. That means its going in, but nowhere for it to go. Is that nornal? Thanks, Al Jones '84 M923

    M923 Maintenance Questions

After reading posts and the TMs on the M900 series, the following questions remain - your help is answering them is appreciated: 1) I see the front propeller shaft trunnion bearing is mounted in a slotted rubber bushing. What is the acceptable "play" when using a mechanics pry bar? Not a six...

    New 923A1 ... Several questions??

I put a search into eBay for the panhead screws (search by part number from the TMs) and came with an exact match of 100 in the box for less than $10. I guess I'm in screws for awhile now. :-? Al Jones '84 M923

Actuator, Air Fan Clutch for M923a1

I see you have the fuel tank ventilation MWO update/upgrade. Could it be that? Trace the lines from the fuel tank to the stack. Could it also be a restriction that might cause the air noise (vent kit again)? My kit was installed poorly and had rubbed itself until it was restricted in one...

    M923A1 Abs Light

My ABS problem was a short on the dump solenoid on the blue circuit, not the ECU. But I followed the troubleshooting procedure and found my short. I did have the Info Centre too and that helped, but I followed both procedures for "fun". Al Jones '84 M923

    M923A1 Abs Light

Positive. See Motherlode of TM's thread where we talk about the 23 series TMs. PM your email address and I will send it to you. The site boss'es have 'em, they just haven't put them up yet. Al Jones '84 M923

    M923A1 Abs Light

TM 9-2320-272-23-2 should get you where you need to go. I has both methods for troubleshooting: with and without the Haldex Info Centre (spelled correctly). It's tedious but follow the procedure. I did and found my problem was a shorted wire. Troubleshooting took two hours and the fix took 2...

CDL required to drive 5 ton?

Other considerations: 1) What do you do if you cross state lines to a state that requires a CDL and you don't have one? BIG trouble. Well, if you get caught of course. 2) No one has mentioned IFTA licenses. This discussion gets even more dizzying. Isn't it true that some states require...

    Dropside Hardware

Fantastic! Thank you. I have found all the parts except the two "half moon" brackets (four total) that hold the loop on. If I find those, I be in business. Thanks again - now I know how it all bolts together. Al '84 M923
