    High air pressure won't adjust.

I see you already ordered a governor but for future reference you can check it easily by seeing if it’s letting air through to the unloader. If it is, the unloader isn’t working. If it’s not, check air pressure right at the governor. If you have full pressure there, the governor is bad.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

My power steering pump has been lightly “knocking” (I didn’t even know ps pumps could do that) so I bought a used one to put on it. Pulled the old one off yesterday and the fluid was awfully sparkly. In case you’re curious this is what they look like inside...

    M925A2 to M932LA2 Conversion

Crazy coincidence. I follow you on Instagram. Had no idea you were on here. Earlier today a guy on fb was talking about dual 395s on a deuce and while I was trying to find that I scrolled past the tri axle truck. Now I open up steelsoldiers and there it is again.

Starting research ld 465 1c turbo upgrade

It is absolutely 100% IMPOSSIBLE to run a diesel too lean. You can not “over boost with too big a turbo due to lack of fuel”. The boost is DIRECTLY determined by the amount of fuel. (Given a specific engine obviously) Max boost while maintaining reliability will be determined by how much...

Advice on repair radiator or replace with new m931a2

It would be better to use one or the other, but not both....

    Died w/decreasing idle

I’d just advise to skip the seafoam. It’s mostly alcohol. 2 stroke oil is always good to use though.

    M818 Turbo Addition

We really need a video of this truck....

M939A1, Radiator Fluid in the Air Compressor Uploader Valve

My first guess would be the head gasket or the gasket on top of the head (I don’t know the proper term). Super easy to take it apart. If you decide to try that, haldex 3559545K has everything you need. $44 on eBay. Maybe cheaper elsewhere, I don’t know. I’d fix the compressor then just drain...

    pyrometer probe location

    I used isspro analogs.

    pyrometer probe location

Right there where I marked in red is the proper location. In the center between the two halves is solid so don’t get into that. This will give a reading on the rear 3 cylinders which run a touch hotter than the front 3.

Engine failure, rebuild, with turbo, jakes.

If you’re wanting 400hp+, stick with the big cam. You’ll have to fight egt too much with the small cam because of no piston squirters. It’s hard to make big power without heat. For trans I would at least do a 10 speed. I know it will be quite the task in an m809 but it has been done.

    PT Pump Adjustments

Care to post a video with the ht60? I used an ht3b and I’m thinking about swapping to ht60 cause they sound so good. (I know that’s ridiculous)

    PT Pump Adjustments

I used a 17. I can hold it wide open all day and it won’t get hot. Rail pressure tops out at about 200. Upon further research, there is more to the throttle shaft screw than just changing max rail pressure. Best to leave it alone.

    Heater motor

I just got a four seasons one a few days ago. $30 on eBay. You’ll have to take your old one apart and get the “bolts” out of it that hold the case halves together. Or buy a piece of #10 threaded rod. The bolts that come in the four seasons motor aren’t long enough to mount it.

    Reverse light switch M813

To do what you’re saying, sounds like all you’d need is any old brake light switch from an air brake truck.

    NHC 250 safe power Mods.

With enough money and time, anything can be done. If you want to swap, a big cam or n14 would be cool. Personally I am 110% happy with how mine runs with the turbo and a little more fuel. If fuel gets that high I’ll be looking for a smaller toy.....

    NHC 250 safe power Mods.

A big cam has more power potential because of the ability to use higher fuel pressure. People have put them in 5 tons. But you were just saying how happy you are with how it runs.......?

    M35A2 Fab. Shop?

A deuce has about the same power to weight ratio as a 5 ton. I’d guess by the time you pay someone to put a different engine and a roadranger in there, you’ll be spending $10k+. This guy put a 6bt in his. He’s on here but I can’t remember his name...

    NHC 250 safe power Mods.

Thanks for posting that! That’s a lot of reading. I’ll try to get through it this evening. Just remember those guys are in the business of selling parts/service.

    NHC 250 safe power Mods.

I really try not to argue with people on here but adding a turbo is not even close to that complicated. Will the stock cam and timing be OPTIMAL? Probably not. But they surely won’t hurt anything. And I’d legitimately love to see evidence of the dual fuel line deal adding any measurable power...
