36-3580 HD HEADLIGHT HARNESS Questions M1009

If it worked before, I would check the high beam relay. Could be bad.

After 2.5 years of flawless service....

Sorry, that's a real bummer. Keep us posted on what you find.

    CUCV Winch?

Winches are heavy, average weight comes in around 75-100 pounds minus the mount. That's a lot of weight swinging from the shackles. I appreciate the out of the box thinking with your mount idea but I think its more trouble than its worth and could potentially be dangerous. Using something...

    CUCV Winch?

So you want to mount or hang (in this case) the winch to the shackles themselves?

    Fav/Dpv 1009

Should be a cool build. I've tried to Google pictures without luck. What's your build plan looking like?

    That is true.

I didn't know the term "fast" was in a M1009's vocabulary.

    CUCV Instrument Cluster Repair

Thanks Warthog and Doghead. I thought it was that one, just wanted to run it by someone else.

I have the catalog in front of me, are you talking about the 38-8036? For models without guages?

Glow Plug Relay Only Thing Missing?

If I recall, the glow plug resistors are not avalable at a part store. The resistors were specific to the CUCV and not a commercial part. You can feed 12v to the relay from the 12v buss bar in the firewall next to the relay itself. Eliminates the need for the resistors all together.

    Soft Top anyone?

The rear window regulator being a POS is one of a few reasons I'm leaning toward the soft top. Also water leaks from the hardtop that I can't seem to track down, the open air driving and shedding 300lbs from the truck are all factors.

    Soft Top anyone?

Thanks ajsmith184. I see how it works now, I couldn't really visualize it when you explained it to me. Looks like it works pretty good.

    Soft Top anyone?

Thanks. I really appreciate it. Is it possible to just completely remove the window glass once the top is installed?

    Soft Top anyone?

I hate to dig this one up again but I'm close (a few months) away from getting one of these. I'm trying to get some pictures of how the rear window fastens to the tailgate. If anybody here has one please snap a picture for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hooked up the batteries wrong - no start

This thread is completely useless. Is there anyway it could be deleted? It could possibly be confusing for someone in the future.

M1009 Wheel bearing servicing and hub replacement

What your referring to is the lockout. There isn't much to them, once you take them apart you'll see what I mean. All the guts of the lockout have to come out in order to get the spindle nut off.
