    cucv fuel pump rod trouble

I used the grease method. I actually used vaseline, I put it in the freezer to harden it up. Seemed to work ok.

Skinny has a point about a block. I kinda forgot about that when I made my post.

    winch question

The Warn 8274 is a great winch. I don't think it's enough for a M1009 though. According to Warn you want at LEAST 1.5x the GVWR. If I recall correctly the GVWR for a M1009 is 6400 lbs. Multiply that by 1.5 and we get 9600 lbs. So a 9500 lb winch would be the minimum you would want. If it...

    Electrical questions

I'm with dependable on this. A real bad idea. Repair the wheel well and battery trays and put them back under the hood.

My 1009 fuse block is melting-

My 1009 fuse block is melting-

Terminal pick? I've never heard of one. I have a pick set and a few dental picks, one of those should work. Is there anywhere that shows how this is done maybe with some pictures? What are your thoughts on using a product like CLR?

My 1009 fuse block is melting-

So I really hate to dig up an old thread but posting this question here seemed appropriate. So I got a fuse box and harness off of a friends part truck he was scrapping. Its in really nice shape and I'm trying to clean all the connectors and the fuse box. Is there any way to remove the brass...

Yeah, that was a cool video. I remember hearing about his original truck getting stolen, good to see he got a new one.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Yeah it seems like it did. I still have to do the hoses. It was a long weekend I didn't want to open a can of worms.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I installed new calipers and checked up on my freshly rebuilt hub. Still gotta do brake hoses on the front and maybe a piece of hard line or two.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Put everything back together today. New brakes, hubs, u-joints, spindle bearings, seals, one spindle and bearings. Drove it home 25 miles and the hubs felt really hot so I think my calipers are stuck somehow. They were really hard to expand when I put new pads on. So I'm gonna do them in the...

    Starting problems on m1009 blazer

Alright, most of your questions have been answered many times over. I suggest searching the site or using Google. READ THE TM'S!!!!! Everything a Cucv owner ever needs is in the TM'S. I suggest getting a grasp on how the glow plug system operates by reading this...

My CUCV spin on fuel filter mod

You have to have a way to bleed the air from the system. Add a valve of some sort.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Got my new spindle, bearing and seal kit for the other side and spindle nuts and washers.

Changed a u joint while waiting on my spindle to show up.

    M1009 spindle bearing replacement

Cool. Thanks. No rust on mine just really nasty grease. I'm gonna add some pictures to this thread detailing the bearing removal and install. To make it a little more useful for everyone else.

    M1009 spindle bearing replacement

Correct. But I'm referring to the bearing inside the spindle. Just to the outside of the u-joint, its a needle bearing that rolls on the stub shaft. Appears that it presses into the backside (inboard side) of the spindle. I know you need a pliot bearing puller to get it out.

    M1009 spindle bearing replacement

Alright, I've searched high and low looking for the answer to my question. I have to replace the passenger side spindle on my Blazer, the threads are significantly damaged. So I'm going to replace the drivers side spindle bearing for good measure. Ive never done this before and have read that...
