    Broken seatbelt bolts

I forgot to mention before, my drivers side bolt broke, when I went to extract it there was enough bolt sticking through the bottom of the truck that I was able to get vice grips on it to help it turn.

Best way to jump start with or with out cables

I do not know how to jump a 24v truck off a 12v car but I can say that the best solution is not having to switch off the service lights every time you park your truck. I leave mine on all the time so I don't forget to turn it on and I've never had an issue. Maybe someone else can chime in. If...

Help with smoking glow plug switch

The wires are identified in the diagrams. There should be small text under the "wire" in the diagram. I posted a page that should help you out and a colored diagram from CUCV Electric. They are a little easier to read. I suggest you print the diagrams out, laminate them and keep them in a binder...

    GL contractors destroying cucv's

I would think a "killer oil" would be a fluid of the wrong weight, blend, type, etc. etc. purposely put into the vehicle to destroy it. Maybe?

    ATF red dye?

That makes sense to me now. I thought off road diesel was a different blend. I guess i thought wrong. Its all about the tax man.
  14. 85CUCVtom

    ATF red dye?

Please correct me if I'm wrong. The sole reason of the red dye in off road diesel is to distinguish it from regular ultra low sulfur diesel? Correct? So when your tank gets dipped and your running off road diesel, it comes out red and your screwed? When your tank gets dipped and it's red...

    ATF red dye?

Sounds like Uncle Sam just trying to swindle people out of money. I'm not using tranny fluid anymore after reading all this.

    ATF red dye?

So you DO have to give them a reason to stop you? So they can't stop you for a "random" vehicle inspection.
  17. 85CUCVtom

    ATF red dye?

What kind of trucks do the DOT guys stop? Only bigger trucks like tractor trailers, deuces and 5 tons? Would I be at risk for getting stopped and my tank dipped in my M1009 just because its a diesel? Can they just stop you for any reason? Wouldn't you have to make a moving violation...

    axle shaft questions.

Its not that bad of a job. I've never done it on a CUCV but I did it on my Jeep. Just make sure that if there are shims in the differential, they go back the same way they come out.
