Anyone put an "infotainment" in a HMMWV?

Hi folks, I'm still really new to humvee world as an owner however I've been thinking about this project for a while: placing a large industrial touch monitor (HMI) above the dog house and connect it to the vitals of the vehicle through an industrial controller (because they already run...

    wires 57K, 325A and 325B = turn signal flasher

The flasher is missing, I'll PM you :) @Mogman I like to use tm-9-2320-280-20-2 and -3 which are the ones I end-up going straight to because they're the heaviest files and seem the most complete. I had missed the diagram with the flasher, it's honestly not obvious to understand that this plug...

    Slantback M1043A2

I was wondering if there was something wrong you could see with the tire or if it was indeed a joke about the CTIS going wrong. After a week I started a psycho about it and this morning, I had to go and check the tires :D

Picked up an 09 M1123 and the power steering is wonky

My guess (I could be wrong) is that hmmwv's have a very neutral front setup therefore a lot of efforts go on the steering mechanism to get the wheels back straight compared to civilian cars and trucks where wheels come back more naturally, especially in North America where cars and light trucks...

    wires 57K, 325A and 325B = turn signal flasher

I must be a bit dumb, I spent about an hour in MTs and ran some search in Acrobat. None of 325A or B, ok 57K hit a result and I didn't locate them in the diagrams.

Picked up an 09 M1123 and the power steering is wonky

I was shopping for a new pump for my A2 last week and discovered that some M998 (12339495-1) pump have a small reservoir integrated indeed. The pump would have a cap similar to this:

    Yermo m1151 missing air filter

Hi, Not necessarily IMO. Can be simply hard baked hydrocarbons and that's relatively cheap to fix in that case. No need to rebuild the engine. I could be wrong for diesel engines as I'm new to those, but that's a fact for gasoline engines and diesel is hydrocarb any way. How many miles is the...

    wires 57K, 325A and 325B = turn signal flasher

Hello folks, Of course, I started with a couple searches over all the MTs I have downloaded and couldn't find it. There's a bunch of kits that are labelled 57K-xxx but no such connector. I searched through forums, unsuccessfully because the search engine says it's too short of a keyword for a...

Flashing glow light = bad batteries ?

I spent a few hours working on the slantback today and made a couple discoveries that explain, at least partially, the issues above. There was something with the 12V line that the previous owner installed that wasn't right and I couldn't find what. Until I realized there were too many heavy...

    Slantback M1043A2

That totally makes sense. My experience is with European cars on the pricey side and believe me there are lots of non original parts that are close matches to OEM. But on such a confidential market as civilian humvees that would make no sense. Altogether I'll keep them as they are. more...

    Very nice. Thanks !

    Slantback M1043A2

It comes out better on another door. The outside plate is thicker and hard, the second plate is thin and pretty soft as the knife scratches the surface easily. Is the thickness ratio consistent? Wondering if these are original doors and maybe I should leave them as they are, if they are...

    Slantback M1043A2

Thanks. I scratched a corner and it looks like they have two plates of steel but I'm not totally sure - there are like 4 layers of paint on this truck. I'm relatively confident about removing the rivets by drilling their head, I'm only worried that there would be some sort of glue between the...

    Backup camera solution?

I know it's an old thread but that seemed to be the most appropriate (and only?) one that covered the camera topic. Visibility when backing up with the slantback is close to none, maybe it's simply because I'm not used to it yet, but I confess a solid multi camera system would be awesome. Have...

Flashing glow light = bad batteries ?

It's now working and I regret I didn't follow a good procedure to identify what the issue was: - I took both batteries off and charged them in the garage on separate chargers - I brushed and retightened all the grounds I could find - One battery was fully charged after 2 hours the other took...

Flashing glow light = bad batteries ?

Ahah my bad, typo on my phone: the batteries are from 2021 :p and yes 13.8 volts was reading from the charger/tester. I'm going back it and will take the time to diagnose that properly... " WEAR at least goggles any time you are working around the batteries! " Absolutely! I've seen nasty...
