    Camp Delta/Tower Park April

Funny thing is, you guys don't even know what you're missing! ....There is no way I'd skip Tower Park for another MV event.... Though you guys are much harder core 'cleaners' than I am. There's certainly none of that at Tower Park.

    Camp Delta/Tower Park April

.....It's been on the same weekend since they started Camp Dirtbag a few years ago... A shame indeed. We're going to convoy our deuces to Tower Park, there will be a separate thread about that soon. Jon

    Steering Wheel Refinishing?

Really? Bondo? I've never heard of doing that... How well does it hold up? I've always thought nothing would work as a long lasting repair so I just buy new steering wheels. Now I'm glad I've kept the old ones. Jon

Help! What primer can I paint RAPCO over same day?

Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer says right on the can (aerosol), "Top coat within one hour or after 48 hours." I top coat it all the time within the hour, I just wait until it has turned from glossy to semi-flat, and then spray the Gillespie. After that has lost it's wet gloss I bake it in the...

    New Mule owner today

I don't know about other suppliers, but Bill Watson has a waiting list for seats, it took 3 months to get mine from him so be sure to factor in the delay if you want the seat by Tower Park. The shift knobs are common and cheap because they're the same as the knobs used on some Jeeps.... I'm...

    It's all in the timing

I wasted a lot of time before installing my magneto yesterday.... Trying to figure out it's proper orientation, and proper plug wire connections. Instead of staring at it and pouring through TMs, realize (like I did after about 2 hours) that the magneto fires for BOTH cylinders simultaneously...

    The Adventure Begins

At first glance, before I enlarged the pics, I thought it was an M715... Neat! Cool (ugly!) truck! Jon

    TM for rearend rebuild.

I notice the manual says to do this with the axle out from under the vehicle.... I'm sure it's possible to do with the axle still under the truck, and I need to. My center axle carrier is bad. How should I do it? .....I haven't really taken a look to see how I might do it, but your ideas or...

    Cotton Bag in Antenna Kit?

Yes, it's for the M1009..... I got it from Dave Walker, I think he still has some. 760-244-8060

    Mule Hour Meter Gear Drive

No, I've got two mules, the first was a A2 junker I bought three years ago. I found a better A5 about two years ago, and that's the one I'm restoring.... But it's still missing a lot of parts and I decided I didn't want to cannibalize the A2. I knew the project would take time and money and I...

    Mule Hour Meter Gear Drive

Single! rofl My girlfriend served in the army and loves the trucks, but she doesn't think she will be able to handle it if we were to get married and/or move in together.... I told her that we'd better make sure and get a place with a nice big shop, with a utility sink and my own oven for...

    Multifuel Coolant System Questions

I remember having to remove the valve covers to get those little manifolds off and back on..... I think it's worthwhile to buy a complete engine gasket set. That way you always have gaskets on hand. I got mine on eBay for $89 a few years back, and it even included the latest style of head...

    Mule Hour Meter Gear Drive

Thanks for the tip Nick.... Luckily for me I got a brand new crate engine for a genset, it only needs all the mule specific stuff -- Bell housing, timing cover, sheet metal, carburetor, oil pan, windage tray, governor, magneto, blower, and some brackets and pipes transferred over from the old...

    Mule Hour Meter Gear Drive

Thanks guys.... I had talked to Bill Watson about it, and he only had used electric hour meters available. He didn't have very nice things to say about them either. I see that I can install the gear in the timing cover without removing it, and that was one of my concerns... I'd hate to take...

    Mule Hour Meter Gear Drive

Hi Group, I'm in the process of changing out engines on my mule, the parts from the junk engine are going on a brand-new 1994 model Teledyne engine for a genset. This engine has a gear drive on the timing cover above the magneto, for the purpose of driving an hour meter. The mule timing cover...

    How to erase Bid history

rofl Yeah that's how I am with eBay... At least they let you delete it! ....She knows how much I bid, but also how rarely I actually win. Unless I really want something...

how hot does your deuce get

Thomas, if it doesn't get up to the right temperature it won't drive off water and other combustion byproducts from the oil, and the engine can get sludge in the oil system. 180 is fine I'm sure, maybe that's even what the thermostat is.... My John Deere loader has a 180 in it. Jon

    Woo hoo new motor!!

Don't do it until / unless the engine swap is looming on the horizon. When new or after rebuild, they will have flushed the fuel system with preservative for storage. If you test it and then leave diesel in there it can dry into sludge and ruin the IP or injectors.... Jon

    Clutch Job Looming

Two other things came to mind..... -- Make sure the pressure plate is the correct one. Maybe they sent you one for a 5-ton multifuel? I'm not sure if they're the same or not.... -- Another possibility is 'operator error'.... Did you know that 1st gear is not synchronized? So with the...
