I picked up a Deuce from Ft. Meade 2 weeks ago and just got around to giving it the once over. We slave cabled it and it started rather quickly but had the most horrible upper end engine noise you ever wanted to hear. No smoke, blow by, oil in water or water in oil. No bottom end engine noise...
I was able to make it up for a good part of the day on Saturday - fortunately the rain held off.
MANY THANKS go out to those SS who transported stuff, brought things needed and bought a couple of things I carried to the show. AMGeneral for hauling those 2 sets of heavy a$$ 5 ton springs from...
I just noticed the bracket now that you mentioned it. There's also 2 of the spring type hood latches toward the back of the hood.... I'll have to look tomorrow but neither of them make much sense :?:
NEW, ultra heavy duty Newmar converters, right here in the classifieds.....
24v to 12v DC-DC Power Converters 35amp!! Brand new - Steel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite
always an option. Will be bringing some to Aberdeen on Saturday.
Thanks for the post Tom!
Thanks also for driving the truck back. As could be seen, I had my hands full bringing back a nice M1028.
That deuce you drove must have ran well cause the GPS said you were cruising at 60 on flat ground and never dropped below 50 even on uphill sections.
So how long...
I'll bring some Newmar DC-DC power converters for anyone who wants them. See the classifieds for details and knock $10 off the single unit price.
Also... I have lots of HEMMT wheels WITH the correct valve stems available. PM or email if interested. It's "Let's Make A Deal" time!
I'm sorry to hear that you too had stuff stolen off a truck at Indiantown. About a year ago I had a bunch of engine parts stolen off a Deuce I won there.
The coincidence here is that I also had H&S Towing pick up my truck and store it until I could get there to pick it up.
I hate to say it...
I've owned an undercoating/rustproofing/etc business for more than 20 years. Unless you are into breathing solvents, scraping for many, many, many hours, and then still probably not being able to get paint to stick to whats left, DON"T BOTHER TRYING.
Probably best to powerwash away anything...
Every now and then it goes right.
