mine needs a new muffler, the bottom was rusted out and blew out on the trip home. I have a small leak on the drive-shaft output from the front axle. nothing major and much less than I was expecting. The guy at the tow company was telling me the deuces he had were running straight JP8 and he...
For the generator you could always use the military 3KW diesel. They weigh in at about 250-300 lbs if memory serves correctly and are much smaller. If your going with a military theme might as well stick to it. Also if your planning on taking it on the MVPA convoy then I would go with diesel...
according to my junk mail folder im sitting on Billions in unclaimed easy money from Afganistan, Saudi oil money, stolen Iraqi Billions, ect.......
Just wish it was true, Has the "member" been kicked off yet.....
Well I just finished a trip picking up my M931A1 from Gulfport Miss and drove it 490 miles home pulling a M1009. This spring I got a M818 and drove it back home from Columbia SC ( 600 +/- miles) pulling a M1031. Both trucks have under 3500 miles and both were in like new condition and were...
nah no air ride... honestly as far as ride and comfort there isnt much difference between the 818 and the 931. The automatic transmission is really nice though. Just a spring ride seat like the 818. The passenger bench has the batteries under it instead of the battery box on the side like the...
a few pics from the trip.
I was at 51 gallons used on a 490 mile trip. So I figure about 9+ gallons towing my m1009 at between 55-70 miles per hour. These are very nice running vehicles and If you know anyone who is a Seabee please give them my thanks for a ridiculously well maintained vehicle...
yeap just made it back last night at about 2pm. The truck is great. Both tanks were topped off and the only thing i can find it needs is a new muffler. The trip back was long but nothing happened. Im going to do a write up later when i re-enter the human race after a few more hours of sleep. The...
thanks all, Im thinking about coming back through Mobile but I havent decided yet. My old Marine Corps Reserve Unit was out of Mobile so I know the Hwy 45 out of Citronella like the back of my hand.... nice quiet road all the way home.
if everything is running okay then leave it alone, I know your worried about it and I would be too but If the noise is fixed and everything is running normally then call it good enough and quit
Well im heading down tomorrow to grab my new M931 that I had towed off-base in Gulfport, Ms. The tow company did a quick run around and said the truck was perfect and was ready to run now so im bringing my M1009 down with a towbar. If i get down and find a problem Ill turn around and come home...

i dont see a problem its a 40 year old military vehicle with old gaskets. Just check the oil before you use it and do your PM checks as per the TM Lube Schedule. If you start running around fixing every little thing your going to drive yourself nuts.
