Tom, I would rebuild the entire brake system, not just the air pak before hitting the road. You have 12 wheel cylinders, lots of hard and rubber brake lines, master cylinder that all need attention. Since these trucks have a single circuit brake system, you loose one line and you have no brakes...

Where does a PTO bolt up on a CCKW, tranny or transfer and what side? The PTO on the M135 / M211 is on the transfer, drivers side. Not an issue if a non-winch truck.

M215 are the coolest, yes I'm a little bias. Check the items that are difficult to replace / find. Tail gate, cab sheild, fuel tank, PTO and pump mechanism. These are unique to these vehicles, most spent a hard life after serving our country. Without pics and detailed info $750-2000? Karl

That is a very nice M135! Having the M211 is the start of a nice collection of earily GMCs. I would like to find a nice M135 to go with our M215 & M221.

Looks like it may have been converted to 12v. Single battery and external coil next to the oil filter, no big deal. Great vehicle!

Hyper-cycle 427 This would be only the second one I have seen. How many parts interchange with the common LD / LDS465?

That is a fairly rare bird, an M35A1 with the Hyper-cycle LDS427. The dump bed is off of an early GMC M215 or Reo M59 If it was closer I would love to have it for being so unique. Why own a common M35A2? Just my .02 Karl

Nice truck and great save! Looks like the bed is too long, could it belong to an M36? The GMCs only came with 12' beds, same bed used on the M35. The civy distributor should work off any early GMC in line 6. Let us known if you need any help. Karl

I just traded my spare exhaust manifold for other needed parts. I do have an extra intake manifold. Check with Gary's halftracks, should be $300-400. Nice looking M16, good luck on your project. Karl

Flipped hubs Hey windmillman, The Hemitt rims work both ways on the 5 ton rears. I did the work to flip my rear hubs because I wanted the flat side out. Easy to do, just heavy stuff to deal with. I used an ATV jack to raise and lower the brake hubs, saved the back! Remember to flip the bearings...
