    How difficult to swap turbos?

forgot to use spellcheck Don't do it till you research more(turning up the fuel). I don't plan on doing it on my first as it will be a low speed vehicle. It will make it run stronger, but can cause serious damage if not mounted with a good Pyro and boost gauger from what if seen posted.

    Two Deuces Down--Hydrostatic Lock?

Start with the easy and simple stuff and diagnose the problem that way, you can spend a lot more time barking up the wrong tree. Start by doing some of the thing suggested like checking voltage of batteries. I don't think I would feel comfortable turning the engine over with the injectors in...

    Battery Safety

I answered the second. I have worked with them in cars boats and motorcycles for years, but having said that I did something stupid yesterday as I was finishing putting the u-joints on the Suburban and had to turn the key on to put in neutral and when I finished it didn't have enough juice to...

    Bad fuel in tanks

I only drove mine ten miles home and diluted the 15yr old Gas with five gallons of diesel. When I got it home all of the fuel filters looked like it shouldn't have run at all. I wouldn't plan on driving one far without at least draining the canisters on all three filters, the sump in the tank...

    The coolest birthday cake ever.

Happy Birthday! Finding one that understands is priceless. My wife doesn't get it at all and that makes it harder.

    door hinges

I used multiple doors and a different cab and had to make shims to get them to hang almost right. Mine hung low untill I shimmed ot the bottom, but new ones might solve the problem too.

Flexible brake lines - age question

Not to steal or put this thread in a different direction, but I changed a few of my metal lines with ones premade from NAPA. afterwards I found they need to be flared in a special way to be used with the high pressures a brake system puts out. I havn't had a chance yet to see if I have to change...

    MVPA Personal Network Request

I got two post cards in the mail and finally called and proably gave too much info. At the time I was giving information to the MVPA, but in retrospect, when it ended in them asking if I wanted to buy a directory in advance(collector edition of course), I was hoping this wasn't what the...

So who is the biggest mil truck dealer in p.al.

    Thats what I thought too.

    Draining water from fuel tank?

I would only do it on a truck I didn't plan to take off road. I can visualize a complex setup with guards and everything, but if you just get it level and check it every 6mo or so, you should be OK if you keep it full most of the time.

How do you mark your bumper?

Don't want to seem like a poser eithier, Still not sure what to do with mine, but no numbers require much less work. I thought about using Div, Reg and Btln # numbers for my sons YM unit or the local USMC unit, but will probably leave them plain. To register the hood number in LA it would not be...

M35 Brakes. Warning signs ignored could have been serious

Too add to Barrmans experience I've changed all the parts, but over a year or so period and now I'm reaping the negative results. The front wheel cylinders which I replaced first are leaking. I'm sure I got moisture in the system changing one component at a time over the long period with the...

Suggestions Wanted! Your Input Is Welcome!

Will's post sums it up best for me especially the part about members or moderators misunderstang the intent of the typist. I usually type late and after a few beers, I never plan or intend to be offinsive. I've made posts just before going to bed and sometimes find will find a comment by a...

    Anbody need mirror assy.

There are a couple of different mirror types out there. Having said that I'm looking for the elbow to the mirror head for the old style mirrors that have the main mirror mount as part of the windshield hinge pin. Pic's would definatly help

What could we feed our trucks when in a life/death situation?

This thread has my confused mind thinking. I think we need to start planning the 2012 Steel Soldiers Zombie Apocylapse Rally. Everyone can start out with a full tank of thier preferred fuel, bought or made with no extra fuel and do 1500 mile trip without buying any pump dispensed fuel for the...

    strange bump sound

I don't have any experiance with the blazer variant but had a LWB 74 truck with two piece drive shaft that destroyed a hanger bearing it had after I modified the engine to about 400HP. I would also look at the motor mounts and transmission mount again. If the motor mounts were bad it may cause...

    M35a2 keeps dying on me

Try turning on the master switch and open the air bleeders on top of the secondary filters and if the pump is working it will pee like a thirteen yr old not dribble like an old man. I saw a post on the site a while back about someone taking two old pumps and making a good one, they had a pump...

    Old MilSpec Paint

I like this idea of testing it first. It would be a PITA to remove it if its not good paint and wouldn't be worth the money you would pay for new, if you had to remove and do new. What kind of paint is it? Enamal usually takes about a month to fully cure, so keep that in mind with your testing.

    Political Messages on your MV

Hard to answer question without knowing the message. If its directly trying to stir some feathers I would say not. we don't want to draw any negative attention to the hobby. I think all would be cool with the yellow ribbon magnets, the POW MIA flags stickers. support our troops and stuff in...
