Southern Illinois Veteran recognition parade, Sept 8, 2012

There will be a few Blutos walking around I am sure. If we had more time, we could have organized a M108 stripping party.

Russell, It would be great to see you make it. We are planning on camping out in our '58 M109 fir the weekend. There will be plenty of help to set up an MKT if you bring it. I would like to see one close up, I'm in the market for one.

Every town has their annual hometown picnic, and ours here in Chester Il is the Popeye's Picnic (as in Popeye the Sailor Man). Chester is the home of Elzie Segar, the creator of Popeye. The theme of the Picnic this year is "Popeye salutes the Troops", and the Picnic Committee has asked for our...

    Ryans new Deuce

It appears to be a heavily modified expansible box (i.e. M447c, M750 type trailers).

    1954 REO M35 Recovery

My truck was from the Corps of Engineers as well. Your idea regarding the model being a base for the Corps ordered truck makes a lot of sense. I really need to get in touch with DD.

    1954 REO M35 Recovery

Oh, and it also appears that your truck has the (desirable) REB kit installed. At least the data plates for it are still there.

    1954 REO M35 Recovery

Yes, as this makes the third truck with that model designation (the one at Jack's, this truck, and my '54) that I know of. The first and third pictures that Jim posted are of a M45 based bolster truck; the only one I know of with the original bed components still in place. The vertically...

    1954 REO M35 Recovery

Interesting. I am 99% sure what that truck was (or at least what truck that data plate was originally on). Jim found one at Jack's a few years ago.

    1954 REO M35 Recovery

In the picture of the data plate, immediately above the "Year Manufactured", there is "Model CH-D-5?" There should be another number after the "5", can you determine what it is?
