    Muffler on a turbo

I wouldn't like my truck as much if it had a muffler, but I guess I'm just hillbilly enough to love the sound:-)

Might buy a Deuce. opinions please.

IMO I'm not even sure an M35 meets commerical DOT specs. I wouldn't go on "grand fathered" either because they were designed in a completely different time with a completely different purpose in mind. "Purpose built to haul men and supplies at lower cross country speeds and be nearly...

    24v inline fuel pump

I installed the E8131 pump this week in my truck. I have an LDS engine which started and ran fine on the IP, but I always felt I was hitting an RPM wall around 2100. With the new pump its got so much power it feels like I should go finds its numbers at the drag strip hehe. Install was very...

    Normal top speed for Deuce

My deuce has a dash plate that reads "MAX SPEED 48MPH". If you search I a bit you'll also find that the deuce wasn't really designed to brake from 50-0 often as well and especially wasn't designed to do it quickly. Go slow and look awesome.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Installed an E8131 external fuel pump.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Changed the oil saturday, now waiting on an external fuel pump to arrive. The original didn't work when I got the truck, fuse was wrapped in "foil paper" hehe GI's, replaced the fuse and it worked for about a week before the pump itself went so its getting upgraded.

    Turbo Question

The deuce isn't going to hold 5th gear on much of a grade at all. Though I'd still think you'd hear a turbo even if its a D type. My C turbo whistle loud idling and only gets louder.

Legal issues with transporting "troops" in a Deuce

In Ohio I'd only haul people if I were driving under 25mph. Otherwise you get into all the real legal stuff like CDL's, safety, etc. Under 25 here and most law enforcement would view you more as a "hay ride" than commuter.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Upgraded my alternator with a kit from Wolverine Technologies. The kit is very nicely made. Voltage now stays in the green with the headlights and heater blower running LOL. Anyone want the original unit? It works sometimes though its probably rebuildable.

Installation Instructions for Rifle Bracket Assembly

If you want to make a really good copy. Find a modern copier at work or a library, etc and have the document scanned to PDF and emailed to yourself. The technology is getting very good.

Technical Assistance needed for non-starting Deuce (76 degreess outside)

Sounds like the problem. I haven't thought about the problem very far, but I've found that if the level is pulled out and I try to start my truck on starting fluid it "will not ignite." I kind of thought it would at least run until the starting fluid clears the intake tubes. What else is going...

Deuce Driving Experience Compared to Civvy?

The attention really is part of the fun, I took my truck to a touch a truck last year and had a blast. I had one little boy (probably 4yrs) who got their early, saw all the trucks, and made mom wait around till it was over to come see the "army truck" again. He had a grin about as big as mine...

    Night photo of my truck

Sure, I was using a Canon 5Dmk2 with a 50mm lens at F/2.2 10/sec shutter time at ISO 1600. For shooting under moon light a white balance setting of "Day Light" typically gives the most accurate color. I was on a pretty sturdy tripod as well.

    Night photo of my truck

I thought I'd post a different type of photo. Photography and especially astrophotography has been a serious hobby for a long time and one night while I was fooling around with my truck I noticed the sky was very clear with a nearly full moon so I decided to try some long exposures. Wind was...

Deuce Driving Experience Compared to Civvy?

Now on topic, I sound a lot like the OP in experience, I grew up around all types of farm equipment and farm use trucks and my dad worked for an equipment rental company so I could operate about anything with an engine before I could drive. The handling of the deuce is just a big ole "Man Truck"...

Deuce Driving Experience Compared to Civvy?

I've been on this site lurking and eventually getting a deuce and joining, I've read the entire deuce section all the way back to just after the archived old site and I don't see the part I put in bold said enough. The sticker on my dash says max speed 48MPH and that is pretty much what it...

    deuce running hot?

I'm surprised its running hot, these trucks tend to run pretty cool most of the time. I wish I had a suggestion.

    No longer stuck in ditch

Yeah, lower pressure way or may not have worked, but normally if I can still move a couple inches either way, no matter what I"m driving (FWD car, 4x4, 6x6) airing down is the first good option. It will allow you to ride higher on the ground that you haven't broken yet and you could eventually...

New Deuce owner and need help with trailer hook up to deuce

I could think of a lot of ways to make it work. One easy way would be to replace the trailers lights with 24v ones. Then just get a military trailer plug from one of the vendors. If you need to use the trailer with other trucks this wouldn't work. The topic has been covered before so searching...

    Abandoned deuces in Baltimore

Nice find, shouldn't this be in the "pay it forward" section. lol I'm not into doing crazy stuff like this in the winter anymore or I'd be all over it.
