Went to pick up an M54 with my buddy.
I think I am going to call that thing: Sir Smoke-a-lot.
When pulling away at the service station, I barely saw the road, nor the truck in front of me.
Mobile environmental violation, LOL..
Well, after we dropped off the truck, continued to an auction...
Center pin? between the axle mounts you mean? Only at the front shackle, or how you call it, the biggest or bottom leaf spring is out of alignment.
The one that is curled around the smaller ones.
My English is not so good, since I am from The Netherlands.
I will try to make a picture tomorrow...
Well, had a 4x4 night run last weekend and had a lot of fun.
The next day I noticed one of the front leafsprings has changed position, it is now an inch or 2 to the right, only half on the rest of the leafs.
Drivers side, seen from front of vehicle, de biggest leaf is off position, at least half...
Overhere the tax exempt for classic vehicles is upped from 25 years to 40 years..
Killed a whole business branch.
My M1028 was tax exempt, when the upped the age it went up to €606 per 3 months. Then I registered it as a truck, went down to €144 per 3 months.
No grandfathering, some special...
Those are some interesting sets of lights. [thumbzup]
The speaker ones confuse me, because of 3 bulbs and 2 other?
I own a set of aftermarket lights, with LED markers, they did not meet inspection requirements, as the lighting image (Lichtbeeld in Dutch) from the H4 part was not good. Still...
Yes, amber/yellow markers are not allowed for inspection. So white bulbs go in for inspection. I put the amber ones in again this weekend.
I did hear of LED head lamps, but it worries me it will not pass inspections. Here in Europe there are some stricter car rules and regulations.
Can you show...
I don't know how much a GMC CCKW weighs, but pulled one with a broken transfercase for a few miles.
No problems at all, did hurt my nose on the steeringwheel, as the brakeman in the GMC thought it was fun to step on the brakes when I was pulling.
Well, Did 2 days of working on the M1028:
First an oil + filter change and overall checking for coming inspection.
All mounts are good, but we did notice the bed is warped a bit.
Then I went for inspection, did not pass. Got a list with points:
I replaced: 2 steering joints, 1 steering joint...
I sure do.
Older people smile and give a thumbs up, youger guys and especially the ladies give me the eye....
small guy, big truck, how can he afford the road tax and fuel...
Some pictures taken on the main event offroad course.
the 2 routes, 78 and 50 km: The missing piece in the 2nd route is because this was in Belgium, where I had no data.
Some pics by photographer on site:
Had a blast today, Went to a 4x4 event.
Have some pics of the M1028 on a bridge and dirt road and the 2 routes I drove.
They will follow later this weekend.
Also had an argument at the event, They said I could only do 1 route, because it would take to long to do 2.
Had the short route (78km)...
Thank you. Next saturday, I am going to an offroad event.
Will take pictures and my buddy will also shoot some vids.
The guy still has problems with his UFS (Upright Filming Syndrome), but we are working on that.
After the event, it is time to change airfilter, oil + filter, ATF +...
Well, went to the circuit today and had a lot of fun.
Rescued a modified Dodge W200 out of the bog hole.
It has K30 axles under there, because they break the Dodge axles.

And had my buddy make a movie of me going uphill. :tank...
Nice Assel [thumbzup]
I am going to visit a motocross circuit tomorrow. So my chance to get my M1028 dirty.
The circuit is rented by the Dutch Dodge W200 club, Dodge Trucks Benelux. For a small fee I can ride from 11.00 till 16.00.
Eurocircuit Valkenswaard.
