    A couple starter questions

It has nothing to do with being period correct. How about cranking a high compression diesel over on a cold morning?

Multifunction switch lever removal? (Turn signals signal switch lever)

I've been thinking of replacing mine. Is that wire shown on the video for cruise control? If so, as CUCV's wouldn't have one, I assume we don't have to deal with the wire. It looks like he just pulls straight out. I'm wondering why CUCVRUS said to "push in and turn it towards you." Is this some...

    Fuel leak / starting issue

Nothing whatsoever, its dictated by a temperature sensor.

    Voltmeter died

Going by the 1/2 w rating on other threads. I picked up some 300 Ohm 1 watt resistors. I see that you said do not go lower than 2. Why is that?

    Voltmeter died

    So I read someone used 2 150 ohm 1/2 w resistors. So, its not 5 w its .5 w? Or it doesn't matter - bigger is better?

    Voltmeter died

Hey.. practically everything on my truck is used..man. So, did some reading here, seems that I could use a 5 w 300 ohm resistor. If one were to use 2 x 150 ohm resistors, are they still 5 w each and are they installed parallel or in series?

    Voltmeter died

Happened first time about 7 years ago, changed out the relay, still nothing. A local CUCV guy sent me a used resistor that sits on the back of voltmeter. Worked until the other day. Does anyone have a working resistor kicking about that they could spare?

Issues with CUCV ( electrical/ starter alternator)

You said "Looked like a little leak up front". Did you check the source, it was likely the water pump weep hole and it finally went out on you. You should always inspect any leak, is is oil, water or fuel. Is is a critical immediate repair issue that would affect driveability or is it just a...

    Failed Emissions

Our emissions testing stopped last year, but before that I had to take my CUCV in every year and pay $22 to have it tested. I asked the guy, have you ever failed a GM 6.2, he said no. I would change the air filter before going in, that's it. My 6.2 isn't the tightest, has some puffing when you...

    bad suppressor?

From another thread ; The suppressors are for electrical noise suppression, it is just a capacitor. If you are not running radios they are not needed. the truck will work just fine without it.

m1010 white smoke wont stay running

I had a Carter lift pump fail after only 11 months. You could see fuel leaking from around the sides where the lower metal section wraps around the upper aluminum part. The AC Delco replacement has been going for 4 1/2 years now.

M1009 No Start. (GearTeeth Grinding?) (Issue after running out of fuel/refilling)

The pink wire is on the top of the injection pump. Here's one thread; http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?114857-Bleeding-Injector-lines&highlight= Pull the pink wire to purge the filter. Then you must connect it to purge the IP and lines.

    m1009 occasional scary steering

Wrong! Whilst I agree your theory sounds correct. I had this very experience myself, in 2WD w/hubs unlocked driving to work. Scary experience, having the steering do that coming out of a corner. Called a CUCV knowledgeable friend, explained the symptom and he said axle u-joints are seized. Took...

    m1009 occasional scary steering

I'm with CUCVRUS, the axle u-joint binding absolutely happens in 2WD w/hubs unlocked. Happened to me. I believe you can try to turn the u-joint by hand and actually feel it binding.

    M1009 starting problems

Didn't read thru all your posts, but do either you or Miillman37 have the original fuel filter base. The fuel pressure sensor o-ring is a known culprit for this issue.

    AC Delco 60G Identification?

    Should say ; 0 100 271 107 10.5V

    Axle u-joint

Perhaps I wasn't clear. There is nothing wrong with the zerk, grease purges from 3 of 4 seals, I pumped a lot thru. Its one trunnion that doesn't purge.

    Axle u-joint

Went to do the yearly lube of my axle u-joints and steering zerks. On drivers side I could not get one of the axle u-joint seals to purge. Tried rotating the seal, went out and drove in 4WD, turning lock to lock, but still no luck. Any ideas?

    Frame number M1009

Looking at those numbers and comparing it to a Mitchell/KLM Automotive Frame Measuring Book. It doesn't seem to quite match any. Looking at column P on your chart, the KLM numbers are 48 1/8". Column R, the KLM numbers are 84 3/8". Here's a smaller picture, you can compare the measurements yourself.
