    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

Its three pieces. The drivers side, passenger, and tunnel. The sides of the tunnel that run down are glued to the top piece. I made it to be removable as water can still find its way under.

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

One mat covered the floor and the center. Barely, with none to spare. Ill post pics of it finished tomorrow. It probably dampens some noise, but its tough to say how much really.

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

Found some time today to work on my truck. I first teed off the oil pressure fitting to install a mechanical gauge as well. In the process, I arced the solenoid and melted a wire to the starter. Luckily, nothing was damaged other than the melted 6 gauge wire which acted as a fuseable link. I...

IP problem with my new Deuce...need advice

Sounds like you are moving away from this option, but there are piston and liner kits on the auction site right now for $147 shipped.

    LT. Dan M35a2 Modification Thread

Looks good. I'd be concerned about looking under it all the time though. The wiper motors personally piss me off as I have to look around them. This looks even lower than those, in the line of sight. You are putting in lower seats, so I assume the seat height will clear you of this issue?

Eastern surplus. $300 per piston and sleeve. I would check tnj and kublos for comparison though.

Jatonka has lds pistons and liners on his website. The bearings can be found on ebay I think. I bet tnj murray, kublos, or eastern would have something too.

IP problem with my new Deuce...need advice

Is there a possibility of calling the previous owner and asking him more questions? Maybe now that the truck is gone, and he has your money, he will be straight and more forthcoming with the pertinant info.

IP problem with my new Deuce...need advice

A clutch disc is $100. Even if there was a way to reuse the old one and make it last a little longer, I dont know that it would be worth the possibility of having to open it up again in the near future.

Guess I'm looking at head gaskets

Buy the radiator pressure tester from harbor freight. It is like 70 bucks. You will then pressurize the radiator and find out where the coolant is going. If it is the head or head gasket, the combustion chamber will fill with coolant. Because of that, pull the injectors when you do the test. If...

Guess I'm looking at head gaskets

Now what is going on? I thought you were good to go after changing the radiator cap?

    Mike D's deuce recovery/modification thread

Anyone know what size the castle nut is on the back of the pintle? I have a hitch adapter from TM America that bolts up there, and need to order the correct socket to remove that huge nut.

Not happy with no posts in classifieds

I do see the merits both ways and understand that it is impossible to police 50k members and posts. If the best solution is to lock it down, then so be it. I am not in any position to make that decision, let alone sway the opinion of those running this forum. Even after reading that thread, I...

Not happy with no posts in classifieds

I suggest reopening the comments. No reason to punish the masses for the few who are causing the problems. Ban the offenders. I feel that the mods have a strong command here, and could do so. The mods definitely have a strong presence. This is the only forum I have seen that has locked...
