I think what you are looking for is here:
Item #4, Onan number 186-6147. I was able to source these parts before through my local Cummins dealer.
Its about 3.5kw, give or take. They are all being surplussed out of CA... only made approx 235 of them (and GP shows 170 being sold)... so the supply WILL run dry. It was a purpose built machine, an auxiliary power unit mounted onto an IED defeat vehicle in Iraq (or at least that was the plan)...

How I did it...
Man... get a refund at that price. Go look up the NOCO unit I posed in another thread. Will power (2) 12V batteries simultaneously, and was $99 shipped via Amazon.
If you want to power a battery bank, you really should watch the auctions for a machine called a 'BAPU'. Open frame DC generator, 28-32VDC, single cylinder yanmar L100... similar lineage to the MEP531 (Dewey Electronics). Their DC alternator puts out 125A @ 28VDC.
The battle short overrides ALL faults. If you are trying to diagnose a no fuel light, what you do is get the machine cranking and while its cranking, flip the battle short up. If its really got fuel (false positive fault), it will take off. It just wont start with the battle short already up.
I've heard nothing but problems with those pulstech units. I have only ever had 1 machine come in with one though... so I my first hand knowledge is very limited with them. If they work for you, great.
I would use a fan powered damper then to run while the genset is running (you could even power it off the convenience outlet of the generator), but with mesh to keep all bugs out. The best thing you can do, even if you put this in a structure, is to rodent proof the set. Rodents have all the...
Just run one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CBTRMZ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Wires up to both batteries independantly, and just unplug it before you run the machine. Its got an IP67 rating, so its fine for outdoors.
Which makes sense, but I've had machines that were less trailer (that had trailer accessories) and machines on trailers (that were added secondarily)... grab bag when it comes to surplus.
Hows sunny Deutschland Guy... you all feeling the same heat the folks in the UK and elsewhere are fighting?
Some units come with a right angle elbow, Ive had a few over the years in trailer sets especially. The thread is an NPT, so any black iron fitting you like should fit.
