I would also invest in one of these... replaces your hertz and voltage gauges if they die under use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000RGF29Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just run a small extension cord from the convenience outlets to this, and it will give you an...
Skys the limit... wait, the wallets the limit.
A rough idea of items I would consider having on the shelf (this is by no means a comprehensive list):
Oil and filters
Fuel treatment (summer and winter mix for lubricity and antigel, biocide, and stabilizers)
Coolant
Extra radiator cap

Only you can decide how prepared you want to be. "Two is one, and one is none" is a pretty good concept when you are in the thick of it during a power outage. Redundancy can make any scenario better if you are prepared. Only you can determine how long you need the machine to be operational...
You might get away with under $100 for all filters, fluids, quad fuse, mov, etc. These machines are pretty great. So long as you don't need new batteries (or count your time as $), you might be surprised :)
The braided copper line is whats normally in the pocket door, opposite the lugs, for use in grounding. Used on trailer sets and for regular genset only. The rest looks like an accumulation of crap... wouldn't worry too much about most of that. Some might be useful, but it mainly looks like a...
If you are intending on doing a flush, I believe I have previously read here a post from Guyfang about running ATF in the machine instead of oil for a certain amount of hours. Really helps strip out any built up gunk, then flush, and replace with standard oil. Maybe he will wander by to correct me.
Here are your manuals for this machine: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?175591-MEP-803A-All-the-TM-s-you-need
-10 is an operators manual
-24 is a technical troubleshooting manual
-24P is the exploded parts diagram manual
The last two are the most important. The first is important...
The manufacturer makes it easy... Ground is the bent tab blade, the neutral (white) is across from it. The two hot legs are X and Y. You feel comfortable enough matching up 4 colored wires, and using a screw driver? If so, you can do this job. Not trying to make light of it... just showing how...
Once you find the plug you like, its just 4 wires. You look at the pin out from the plug manufacturer, and run lines from the appropriate lugs on the plug, to the appropriate lugs on the genset. Its like a 10 minute job, including mounting the panel plug up. But definitely if outside your...
The HBL2620SW is only three legs, the NEMA L14-30 style has 4 legs on it, which is what you would need for the MEP to tie to a house (two hot legs, one neutral, one ground). There are many ways to skin a cat, but for a casual user, who is probably going to tie into a twist lock panel, it makes...
If you poke around on the big auction site, there is a guy in FL or GA who routinely puts up parts for these sets. You might want to reach out and ask about this boot. Think he goes by Martin Manor Surplus, or something similar.
