I recovered my truck from Fort Lewis two months after the auction closed (EUC issues). I was only missing a dash light cover, and since the bulb and threads were clean, I think the taking was relatively recent, though I wasn't smart enough to copy the pics off the listing before GL took them...
Toxic fumes aside, an open combustion heater puts out LOTS of water vapor. If you use a camping heater, you'll be scraping frost from the INSIDE of the windshield.
Voice of experience.
Ladder arrived today. Definitely NOS with MFG tag and serial number. Aluminum construction, with 383 green paint, very light weight. Ropes, rail, safety pin for rail, and canvas straps that I'd guess are to lash it to a troop seat or headboard. Sticker showing how to mount with tailgate up...
Well done, WSU. I was in love with your paint job.
As to availability of trucks--I hope Carnac is right. That said, the turning in of trucks, and the availability of those trucks to citizens, are not necessarily related.
We could be only an executive order away from demilling trucks...
Boarding ladder--->PICS ADDED
Welp, at the Vet's day parade last Saturday, I watched my three sixty-ish gravity challenged buddies, in full field gear of course, lumber up a folding aluminum ladder into the back of the deuce to ride in the parade.

I work for the state of Washington, Cougarx, and I know rednecks just ain't appreciated proper-like over on the wet side.

Does...
BPJ911's committed. Even though it's something I wouldn't try, I wish him success.
As I approach 60, I can tell you that I've done plenty of stupid things in my life, and gotten away with most of them.
Also, I've been in situations where I had a picture in my mind's eye that I was sure would...
J C Taylor says locked garage. I don't have one that big, but wouldn't make a theft or vandalism claim under the circumstances. I'm mostly worried about liability when I drive it.
They're typically about $100 a year per vehicle. I'm looking at a quote now for 3 MV's, values 4K, 6K and 8K...
Well, lemme see... I live in the country on two acres. About half is occupied by house, yard, and shop. Leaves me one acre of open ground. 1 acre = 43000 square feet. Truck occupies about 10 by 25=250 square feet. That means 1 acre can store 173 trucks.
Woo-hoo !! 169 trucks to go !!!:-D
