"So, I bought a deuce about 425 miles from here. Going to drive it home. I want to drive my POS astro cargo van over to the deuce and put the van in the rear of the deuce for the trip home. It appears that the rear tires of the van will be on the tailgate. How can I make this...
Would the tailgate hold the light end of an astro van? Yeah, probably, but don't blame us if it doesn't. Would 2 by 12's provide a measure of insurance? Yes, if they're long enough to also be under the front wheels.
I considered this option when I retrieved a truck with my Subaru Outback...
I don't have anything with carc on it, but my standard cleaner is Coleman lantern fuel. No additives, doesn't harm any paint I've put it on, and the evap rate is about right for grease and oil removal.
My first deuce was an M135, and I still have it. A little slower than a multifueler, but more comfortable to ride in, and steers easier, IMHO.
That said, there's just something awesome about an engine that will run on anything from paint thinner to diaper squeezin's.
Since I can vouch for the fact that the M44 series cab was not designed for geezers of 5' 10" and 240 pounds, I'm gonna shorten the pushrod on my master cylinder so that it stops at 1/2 pedal or so. Right now, it stops at about two inches, which for me is with my knee nearly at the steering...
Accidental Truck ran in the West Richland, Washington Veterans' Day parade yesterday. Truck has the camo cover made available to us from Dan in Beaverton OR. Dan, thanks very much--the cover, as you can see, looks great!

Thank you for the reply. For others in similar Oregon circumstances, I received a very courteous email reply from Tina W, DMV customer service, listing these MV clubs and approved signers.

My new deuce is a 1988. In order to get special intersest permanent plates in Oregon, I have to have a document signed by a club recognized by Oregon DMV.
As one might imagine, nowhere on the DMV website, and nowhere in the Oregon Revised Statutes, can I find a list of said recognized clubs...
Greetings, Alex. I did a 4 year term in E-burg before it was a university.
Wind chill is not relevant to a parked vehicle beyond the fact that when warm, it will cool down more quickly. Thus, a parked vehicle will get no colder than the thermometer temperature, regardless of wind.

Anybody got any neat tricks to remove one of these from a trailer? My torch isn't big enough to heat the assembly it's in. Got the nut loose, but can't the the shank to move in the bore.
In your situation, I'd definitely keep the deuce. With two young children, you can use the truck to haull the used pampers to the landfill, and stop by home depot on the way back to pick up construction materials for the basement. When you tell the neighbors on the culdesac that you'll...
What's a prelube, and what's it look like? I'm pretty uncomfortable running zero oil pressure for ten seconds or so.
For the MF intelligent, is this delay caused by oil draining from the filter canisters, which need to be refilled upon starting, that causes the delay? If so, is there a...
I bought two new condition (NOS or rebuilt) wheel cylinders on ebay for under $28 plus $11 shipping. For that price, I've got two on the shelf, for whenever.
:D Kudos, oh wisemen of the forum. I hooked up a Sunpro gauge, and sure enough, I had 64 psi at cold idle, not the 30 shown on the dash gauge. As some speculated, it's a 120 pound sender and 60 pound gauge.
I put the 120 pound sender back in, and until I find a NOS 120 pound gauge to stick...
You will need 10 straps with sheet metal eye, and 10 phillips head screws, 5/16 coarse thread if I recall correctly. The screw is identical to the screws that hold the corners to the staves, except for length. They're about 3/4 long.
I've known and dealt with Alex for 8 or 10 years. I've been to his MV swap meet several times, and bought an M151A2 from him as well as many truck and jeep parts. He's a businessman of the old school. No dazzle, no BS, just facts and fair prices.
