    Dead crank switch

It does just that. I normally use it to cycle coolant and oil after changing both. It also helps to diagnose if you have starting concerns (like if you can't start from the switch.... but it cranks from this switch).

    Libby MEP 002. 12 volt starter ?

I have only ever seen them sold preinstalled in line with the pump.

    Libby MEP 002. 12 volt starter ?

Just cut the module out, and install a nice water tight inline connector (so you can retain the military slip fitting). The pump will run without this filter.

UL listing for mep 803a or 831a?

Unless this generator is in/under a building or enclosure, that said insurer is covering the replacement cost of... why do they care? If you are simply hooking up to a connector on a structure, with an appropriate cable, what goes to that receptacle should be immaterial to their coverage. Are...

UL listing for mep 803a or 831a?

I would be shopping for a new insurance company. So it sounds like you might be able to satisfy their wants, by installing an outdoor installation approved safety switch right on the side of the machine, where the wires exit now (like this...

    MEP-8xx engine paint

I don't have an answer yet Ray, but I have posed the question to a Lister guru, who I hope knows the answer. Will circle back if I get a response.

    Crazy prices?

Indeed. A shame this machine can't even be run down like the seller suggested: http://www.lister-petter.com/p/power-water-solutions/4/lp-range/1/engines/16/lpw4

    Crazy prices?

There was a guy local to me pulling the same thing. 'Turn the hertz down to 15% and you are can run a home... or so I read somewhere'. Uh huh.

    Crazy prices?

Once a liar, always a liar. Lying by deception is the worst, but very common. Take your stupid purchase like a man, and deal with it. Let it be a lesson to you.

MEP-803A - Quad fuse blows when increase of Voltage

Plan on snipping zip ties during this exercise, to see the wire ID info. Its printed every 2-3".

    Spare parts

A good basic list is fluids, filters, and fuel (including stabilizing agents, algae killers, winterizers, etc)... to cover the duration of outage you are expecting. After that, never hurts to have a spare set of radiator hoses, or a fan belt. Bulk fuel line (both main sizing and return line) on...

    Spare parts

I would second the machine duplication route, but the past year has shown this is not as economical as it used to be.

Anyone ever thought of adding a simple EGR system to an MEP803a ?

I wonder how true the flange faces were after that...

    Libby MEP 002. 12 volt starter ?

I feel like there are too many questions still unanswered, before we start jumping onto other topics. Will you be providing any backup info to the questions and statements already posed tnmike?
