Yeah here is the HF unit: https://www.harborfreight.com/1720-lbs-capacity-48-in-x-96-in-super-duty-folding-trailer-62647.html
What I would do is to get some rectangle channel steel (or maybe real heavy wall aluminum), and drill and bolt it to all of the cross members on the trailer (so...
So I suppose you could cut the flanges off, and somehow source a muffler of vaguely the same size, and weld it all back up with an upturn at the end, that mates to black iron. Seems like an awful lot of work though. If the mufflers were the same between the 802/803 I'd have a solution for you...
Sure there is a muffler out there for the Lister LPW4 (same engine), which will have the correct flange, but the termination is not correct. Overpriced or not, GMG does have a place in this market.
You aren't going to find anything that is a true drop in replacement. Here is what the NSN calls...
Used to pick up Exide classic 51R @ TSC for $89/ea without core (my local store never asked for cores, so it was a great deal). They don't seem to carry them anymore, but now have Traveller brand T-51R @ $99 without core. YMMV
My wife has a friend who lives within 20 miles of the South Point on the big island, off grid.... will be interesting to see what he has to say when we can touch base again.
I can refill my MEP with diesel stored in a hollowed out watermelon too... doesn't mean its going to last in that application. I have no doubts the mechanical internals can take either fuel, its the seals, fitting, etc that would degrade in a significantly different manner under the multi fuel...
So the milspec units (or at least all I have seen) were domestically produced. I see these new ones are coming from Mexico. I do know that Airtex know goes by ASC/Airtex (ASC water pumps combined with them), so maybe from the merger there has been a demand for this pump again? I don't know...
Its gonna be tough to start, unless something drastic changes with the market. In the last year, Ive seen sets that literally looked like they rolled off the side of a potato truck (at speed), go for over $3k. Nuts.
I think my wife would leave me if I was messing around with that many a year. I've been lucky enough to manage a dozen or two per year, and not an unhappy buyer yet!
Edit: But I've only purchased 4 or 6 in the last 8 months for the same reason... not sure when I am going to find such a deal...
I don't need one (but I do need some replacement prefilters for my stock)... so I figured if its really an available product, I now at least have a newer style in my personal parts backup (instead of the older square style, which I have on a parts 802).
I just got off the phone with Mike (he called me back). Engineering states this can be used for gasoline or diesel, no worries. Actually rated 20gph, with a min pressure of 2.3psi. Consumes 1.3A.
He said it was definitely a military application (and told me it was for 24VDC), and that he had no...
What do they list for cure time Ray? I dont have any cans of it left to look at. Knowing what you do for work, have you looked at any heat guns from Steinel? They might have something to fit the bill, if you arent curing too long...
Yeah its madness. I got a pair of MINT 803s in the last few weeks, at prices the auction houses cant touch these days (right place, right time... you know how that goes). Money in the bank, I figure.
I just got one on order... says estimated date is 9/7. If they cancel the order, no biggie... but I'll take my chances. Its very unlikely that they are going to reuse a number for a pump like that, and not have it be the same thing.
Spoke with Mike in their Tech center... no idea about the pump at all. He said Summit knows more about it than he does... and he referenced a 20+ year old catalog too.
He has my cell. He said hes gonna do some research and see. Wish I had more news, but thats where it sits.
