I am really enjoying my M1009 and thanks to the guys at the Lone Star Military Vehicle Preservation Association, I have had a chance to let others enjoy it also.
While I enjoy the moan of the 6.2 under the hood, I felt it was time to get some of my E-lec-tronic doohickies in the truck.
I did...
The GPR109 I got from NAPA most certainly did have I & S marked on it. It may have got put in the wrong box. I went ahead and bit the bullet and got the powerstroke relay.
I am going to let the card stay in as long as it's working. I have wire, terminals and a switch in my "oh ****" box to...
The orange wire was/is on the output side of the relay.
I let the motor cool down and I reinstalled the stock relay and it all works, including the wait light.
I still am not sure just what happened with so many people running the GPR109 but mine was having issues for sure.
This morning after starting the motor, I was looking under the hood and noticed the stock GPR post moving about a 1/4 inch every time it energized during the afterglow cycle. I figured it was time to change it.
After diving into the FAQ, I went to NAPA and purchased a GPR109 and installed it...
So if I read that article correctly, I should carry some biodiesel in my 5gal can
and put 1 gallon in when I fill up for the best results?
edit:
Actually, I need to carry B100 in my jerry can and put 1/2 gallon (60 oz) in with
every fillup...
You know, I just logged on to see if I could find this info.

I got on craigslist and found a dude parting out some blazers and suburbans...
Got all the seatbelt parts I needed, plus a jack and handle and a radio for $30.
Just look around... they are not military
If GM made a 16" hub centric wheel then I could find some used. I just didnt want to waste a lot of time and I figured someone here would know.
I picked up a set of 15" rally wheels for $10/wheel last weekend to use for spares in case mine get damaged.
Did GM make a steel, 16 inch wheel that would fit the Hub Centric setup
on the M1009?
The reason I ask is it is almost impossible to find used 15" tires these days.
I can get 285-75-16's (33's) all day long for rock bottom prices.
It would be worth it to me to switch to a 16" steel wheel.
Off the shelf replacement alternator for drivers side ONLY.

They actually had a 100amp alternator in the 1975 Caddy and it fits JUST fine.
The pulley is just a hair smaller so you have to tighten it up a little more, but it runs just fine... Cosmetically it is identical but has no isolated ground.
I will see if I can get the part number. I got it at...
