Where do you get your WMO/Transmission fluid?

I run a small motorcycle shop, so plenty of old fluids lingering here. As far as collection companies, they run the gamut from informal to charging a disposal fee in my experience in both the MC and auto industry. With fuel prices these days they usually charge a fee if there is less than 500...

    M35 A3 demand?

Also keep in mind that right now with diesel prices as they are, you'd have to pay full price as the Cat isn't a multifuel engine.....Nice trucks though....

Dumb question - can Advanced Auto/AutoZone test my alts?

I think I'd find a competent electrical shop to handle it. The complexities of a 24 volt system with more than one alternator may lead to a few burnt diodes, or worse yet a destroyed alternator if the tester is incorrectly used. They would somehow need to isolate each alternator to see what they...

    painting in the rain

I've found that the paint will take on a texture similar to that of the surface of the moon, with little craters all over from the raindrops, if the paint isn't hardened before it gets rained on.....Don't ask how I know.

Found what looks like a M135 on side of road

There is an M211 winch truck here in Virginia I looked at a few months back.....Guy wants 2 grand for it, but its had the trans swapped out, an incorrect hardtop, incorrect seats, lots of rust, and "it ran when parked!"

    operating a winch.

I think particularly more so with a large PTO winch and a large diesel engine turning it.....Just read the manual, and be very cautious when you do use the winch.

Need More Power From The Chrysler 230 Flathead

I am not particularly familiar with the Chrysler flatheads, but is the bottom end strong enough to hold up to any upper engine mods? I know much of the older stuff only had 3 or 4 main bearings and the connecting rods were a bit smallish. I know that you wouldn't be turning huge RPM numbers...

My M135 made the 2000 mile round trip

Definitely a nice 135, and congrats on making a good, long, safe, trip there and back. I've been eyeing a 211 for a while, but not as nice as yours!

    Battery group number for M35A2

I saw a mention above of Marine batteries, but was that just a marine application with the screw on posts, or deep cycle? Deep cycle are meant to be discharged almost fully then recharged as I understand it, and don't always give as lenghty service as a conventional battery in an automotive...

Anyone ever submit a claim to GL?

Maybe a copy of said video to the local news station and GL as well?

Had the old girl loaded heavy today.

No lie there.....The M715 is stiff. I can run the front wheel up a stump or berm and lift the rear wheel on the same side with no problem. They don't flex at all. On another note, I had to haul a new motorcycle lift to my shop in my 715 a few weeks ago, and at around 1500 lbs it didn't even...

    Battery group number for M35A2

I did a run to my local NAPA and just measured and found a set that will fit. My plan is something similar to yours Michael...a set of custom hold downs. I picked up two 750CCA's, with a 24 month warranty.

    Battery group number for M35A2

Thanks Doghead! Appreciate the info......I searched "battery" and "deuce" and got a lot of posts, but nothing specific. This is a big help!

    Battery group number for M35A2

Searched the site pretty extensively, but cannot find what battery number is correct for my AM General M35A2. There are currently some junkers in there that are mismatched. If it makes a difference its a Continental Multifuel with the Whistler "C" Turbo. Any help is appreciated!

Me Vs Windsor Township - Victory

Man what an f'ed up neighbor.....Good thing is that when this is all over, they will have to leave due to all the negative publicity. I'd be sure theor name was well-known all over. I had a similar neighbor when I lived in a townhouse complex years ago. She was a renter and neighborhood busy...

    turbo 400 trans trouble

Before you condemn it, drop the pan and have a friend operate the shifter while you check to see that the linkage is operating the selector valve in the valve body. It should be moving the plunger as the gear ranges are selected. I have seen the selector pin break off several times. If you...

    Sold truck before SF-97

Here in VA they do it all on the spot. No waiting or mailing of titles. The DMV office prints them right there, so we did it all at the same time. He just had his SF-97 and filled out the necessary DMV paperwork/application for title, transferred it into his name, then turned around, signed...

    100% used motor oil fuel.

Rotten gasoline seems to do just fine. I tend to end up with a lot of it here because we do a lot of storage vehicles, and so far it runs just fine in this deuce. I had a friend with another M35A2 and he ran it pretty consistently, helping me dispose of it without any negative effects.

    Sold truck before SF-97

We just tried the same thing here in VA. The owner of the deuce I bought hadn't gotten the SF-97, then filed for it in his name. Once we got it, the DMV here wouldn't accept it from me, and he had to file for the title in his name then transfer the title to me. It only took a few minutes at...
