I think particularly more so with a large PTO winch and a large diesel engine turning it.....Just read the manual, and be very cautious when you do use the winch.

I saw a mention above of Marine batteries, but was that just a marine application with the screw on posts, or deep cycle? Deep cycle are meant to be discharged almost fully then recharged as I understand it, and don't always give as lenghty service as a conventional battery in an automotive...

I did a run to my local NAPA and just measured and found a set that will fit. My plan is something similar to yours Michael...a set of custom hold downs. I picked up two 750CCA's, with a 24 month warranty.

Rotten gasoline seems to do just fine. I tend to end up with a lot of it here because we do a lot of storage vehicles, and so far it runs just fine in this deuce. I had a friend with another M35A2 and he ran it pretty consistently, helping me dispose of it without any negative effects.
