    Brake Issues

Mine does not have a check valve in it, it vents both ways. I did put a small-engine air filter over the end to keep dust & debris out, but still allow it to vent. Whatever you do, make sure you do NOT connect this vent line to the valve cover downpipe vent near the exhaust; vapors from the...

    Brake Issues

I have a bunch of torch tip cleaners I picked up from Harbor Freight a while back; I use these to run through the compensator holes to clear any crud. That way I can get the right size to run through every time. Quick and easy.

M35 radiator in Colchester, VT moved to Las Vegas Nevada

We've still got it pencilled in....it's only 1040-ish miles from our place in southern Utah. :) And NO, we won't be doing it in a 5-ton or any FMV..... but William you can sign your CUCV title over to me in exchange for bringing your radiator back from Kansas. LOL (j/k).

    preferred air pressure for 395s?

My Deuce is pretty heavy (lots of tools plus crane in bed, 7 total 395 XZLs with run-flats & steel MRAP rims, adapters; second fuel tank, lots of extra weight) so I run mine at 85-90psi. No irregular wear on tread crowns, and it keeps EGTs down....any less pressure really skyrockets the EGTs...

    Air Dryer for an M35A2

You might want to reconsider the plastic split-loom over the electrical pig-tail where it rubs against the frame; instead, take some old fuel/oil/air hose and cut it to slip over that spot to better prevent the frame from rubbing through. That plastic split-loom won't last long with the Deuce...

    Valence's 1972 M35A2

It's interesting how so many of us start off our Deuce ownership with knowing so little about them, but after much TM absorbing and tinkering on them, as well as spending time here, we get to know them much more intimately. Starting with maintenance items (filters, fluids, brakes, etc..) really...

    Crane Ideas?

And it's well worth it to use the air-assisted hydraulic ram; trying to pump that cylinder by hand while lifting will wear anyone out! I don't have any pics on hand but it's an exact fit for the standard HF 8-ton engine hoist cylinder.

    Crane Ideas?

Rusty, I believe that you can start at this post and work your way through to get the idea: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?78217-Successful-Deuce-Recovery&p=1240679&viewfull=1#post1240679 Like I mentioned earlier, the ATV winch didn't last long before I swapped it with the Badlands...

    Crane Ideas?

Yup! Drove the 931 out from underneath it, and backed a trailer in underneath it to deliver it. 3 members here will remember their stuff packed into the empty space in front of the LMTV bed last summer, when I delivered it to them. :-D I've also lifted an MK48 transfer case (about...

    Crane Ideas?

Several years ago I fabbed up a crane for the back of my Deuce; I welded in a bunch of 4-inch C-channel underneath the bed for reinforcement where crane mounted. I copied angles and designs from a 2-ton engine hoist I have. I had the hubs from a shattered Deuce rear axle on hand, and used one...

Saving the 10 tons what was my friend thinking.?

Most everything left at BTP was shredded & scrapped about 3-4 years ago. All the remote lots (storing the military vehicles & equipment) are just piles of shredded metal now.
