I have a soft top on the truck and a factory hard top still in the crate. I like running open on beautiful summer days and don't drive in the winter. If the Deuce saw winter service, the hardtop would be on it! I actually have no explanation for owning a hardtop at all.

Your truck moves quite well with the lockers in the rear. It seems to make a difference. I would not trust my open diff truck to follow you! How much traction comes from the lockers vs. the big tires?
Yes likely, but it can run like that for a looong time - as long as there is no oil entering the coolant. You ought to have bought yourself sufficient time to collect the info, tools and supplies to eventually do the head gasket(s). How loose/inconsistent were the head nuts?
Off the top of my head:
Rotate oil pan
Switch oil pickup from LDT into LDS to fit rotated oil pan (it's very simple; just switch the pickup tubes over...easy when you see it; I had an issue with a pickup tube I did not understand; don't block off any oil pump openings is the lesson learned)...
Great time to set valve clearances as well!
You made me smile when you mentioned "engine reseal"...doing the head gaskets is one thing and I admire the "disciplined" people that can do just that and button everything back up.
I am so in danger of falling into the "while I am in there and have...
Re-torque. You have nothing to lose. It might still eventually fail but you might buy time. I bet you will be surprised about what you find when you put the torque wrench to the head stud nuts.

Ah, 10-4 HN6, you are concerned about steer axle vs. rear axle offset.
I misread that as forrward rear to rear rear axle differences.
The front axle should have no side-to-side movement. Need to check U bolts, spring perches etc.
I suggest lining the truck up straight on asphalt or...
I did that and had a clean block for about three days. The new headgastkets on new heads and a straight deck ooze. The valve cover gaskets are mostly, but not totally, oil tight (even with re-seating and vaseline). I have a block with a few streaks, but at least not a dripping wet block!
My Deuce, when turning, shifts the axles perhaps 1 inch or less. It is just visible as some tread offset between the two neighbouring tires. Definitely not 8 inches!
The TM speaks of "rigid" axle mounting but there better be some flexibility or stuff breaks. The spring pockets themselves provide...
Basically, yes. Singled out, you run the rims dish out on flipped hubs.
Search for flipped hubs and postings by Gringeltaube on why that is advisable.

I have a standard 150 psi valve on the shelf. I have not plumbed it in, yet. Golly, I do not want to run out of Spring projects!!

None on my truck. In case of governor or unloader failure it would continue to build pressure until the weakest point in the air system blew.
