    Caiman MRAP

I should add that these MRAPs are not likely to be used on everyday patrols...they might as well have "For Emergency Use Only" stencilled on them. Well, the non-federal agency MRAPs anyway.

    Caiman MRAP

The probabilities of active shooters continuing to do their evil deeds here in this country are way too high; in addition to trying to contain the shooter(s) and prevent further death/injuries, we are also tasked with tending to & evacuating wounded. I know that YOU KNOW first hand, Ron, the...

    Caiman MRAP

No sir, I won't get political...to many facts get in the way in this case. Look back at the violent bank robbery in Los Angeles in the mid-90s...the LAPD could not deal with such a threat with only 4 rounds of 00-buck and 9mm pistols. They weren't authorized to carry nor use rifles, let alone...

    Caiman MRAP

Ron, my apologies; I didn't mean it that way. Please understand that state/local law enforcement has a much DIFFERENT mission than federal agencies...I too worry about DHS & other fed agencies that are quietly up-armoring and stockpiling (as Recovry4x4 pointed out already). Your state/local LE...

Newb from Las Vegas needs help inspecting M35A3 in the same area

Use Quality Towing; they go on & off Nellis AFB all the time and are very professional & competent. Try to ask for Leo V. if he's available, you won't be disappointed. Make sure you tell them you need Heavy Recovery for a military truck, not a passenger vehicle! Also tell them that it needs a...

CDL Instruction Permit help for someone with no M923A2 truck in Nevada

Trust me, don't show up for your drive test with a rented/leased vehicle in Nevada...

CDL Instruction Permit help for someone with no M923A2 truck in Nevada

I can definitely help here; I recently obtained my NON-commercial Class A with air brakes endorsement. I assume you've downloaded & thoroughly read the Nevada Class A/B Non-Commercial Study Guide? If not, start there, and memorize it. If you're getting a true CDL, then you'll need to...

    Caiman MRAP

Total thumbs up! Tinfoil Fever is worse on ARFCOM, naturally...but since non-LEOs probably won't ever have the terrifying experience of facing a heavily-armed active shooter with body armor, it doesn't make much sense to them for LEOs to have MRAPs.

    Caiman MRAP

Very nice sir; I hope your agency has the funds to keep it maintained & running...all too often I see equipment like this left sitting around for years at a time, some agencies don't have the money to keep the vehicles operational for training. Stay safe!

    Caiman MRAP

Law enforcement has an obvious need & use for them; civilians not so much. Unless you negotiate directly with the manufacturer. If you have been paying attention over the past couple of years, active shooters have been on the rise. Violence in general has been on the rise, especially against...

    M38A1 into Israeli colors

Would like to see it when completed; I was lucky enough to visit Israel in 1991 and LOVED it. Fantastic people, very resourceful and ingenious.

How to remove the pintle hitch on M105A1??

Good lord, someone is going to get hurt with some of these suggestions. While reading through the other threads as outlined by Clinto, it should become apparent that you need pressure on the back side (against the nut) of the lunette. After a couple of swings with the sledge hammer, use a...

    MRAP for Sale ?

I got lucky enough to purchase a set not long ago...usually the GL staff aren't familiar with the MRAP axles and if not informed prior, GL will list them as "unknown manufacturer." :naner:

    injection pump question m35a2

Don't feel bad, I did the exact same thing last summer when installing new O-rings on my IP & HH. In fact it seems that you are almost guaranteed to install the HH 180-degrees out of phase if you don't triple-check the #1 cylinder valves! And you have a good spare, package it up safely and you...

    Chrysler Defense HMMWV Prototype

That's a great piece of history, my hat is off to you for preserving & driving it!! Good job! [thumbzup]

    Valve stems

I have started swapping over to Haltec Large-Bore valve stems...the large bores air up & down sooooo much quicker! I installed a quick-disconnect fitting on the large-bore air chuck so I can use it on any of my air compressor outlets, and it works much better than standard size Schraeder...

    Wreckerman's redneck engineer trailer

Nice work! Now it's truly a multi-purpose trailer!

    Another M105 axle swap thread.

Scott, it sounds like you're on the right track. These M105 trailers are awesome for modifying to fit your individual needs. Better to engineer in plenty of overkill, since you're more likely to break down far away from help than while sitting in your driveway with all of your tools...

    Finally started 5-ton Hauler.....F950

WOW, fantastic work! Can't wait to see it when it's ready for the highway!! It's your truck, do what you want with it...personally, I like seeing the cab & body swaps on 5-tons and other trucks. Very ingenious. Good job!
