    gauge cluster conversion question

Since this has become the gauge update/wiring thread of choice now. I will chime in what I have figured out recently. I thought after following this thread when it was new and looking at parts suppliers like LMC that there were 3 different printed circuit mats for the gauge clusters. Nope...

    Unusual driveline vibration case

Besides the suggestion of temperature checking your u-joints a few post up. Pulling the straps off the pinion yoke and actually holding the drive shaft/u-joint as you check them and turn them can do a lot more than just looking and giving them a tug. This will also make checking the transfer...

    Voltage regulator drivers side M1009

Thanks for the links Marcus. I was time limited when I made my post and just wanted to get the basic facts out.

    cucv fuel filter housing

Someone will probably post up soon about how if they can find the old one they took off their truck because it leaked a deal can be worked out. Which leads to the question of why? The stock filter bases were prone to cracking and leaking. Many of us consider a spin on filter to be a superior...

    Voltage regulator drivers side M1009

Thank you for your service. The regulator is inside the alternator. They are normally found with any Delco 27SI alternator rebuild kit. There are several vendors on this site that sell such kits. A fast google for a 27SI kit will show you other vendors as well. It reads like your dealership...

optimizer long block - hummer 24V or cucv 24v

No gasket on the Banks lid. The filter is just a hair taller than the housing and the lid seals with it.

optimizer long block - hummer 24V or cucv 24v

There used to be an exhaust shop at the point where College and Texas almost meet, on College. I haven't even driven by there in years so they could be gone. They had a pit in the floor and were great at fabbing up anything for a good price. Your airbox should have a little bitty drain hole...

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

I got to work this morning and had two puddles under the Cowdog. I ran it on Thursday but haven't seen it since. Power steering fluid from the pump and transmission fluid from the pedestal/rear mount area. Power steering has been an on again, off again leak ever since I got it running. I am...

I like that airbox set up Rich. Looking good.

    Boost antifreeze leak

That sure screams HEAD GASKETS to me. When you are pimping the coolant tester. Can you hear air leaking from anywhere? Also, where is the coolant leaking on your engine coming from?

    M1008 windshield wiper short

The wiper system works off of ground switching. Look at the wiring diagrams at the back of the -20. Power goes from the fuse to the motor. All the rest of the wires control the ground.

    Gauge Mounting Pods.

Post number 206 in my Cowdog build thread is the only picture I have of mine. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?74514-M1007-CUCV-Suburban-Clone-Build-Thread/page6 i have engine oil temp, egt and boost. I haven't driven it down the road yet so distraction or view blockage is still a...

    M1008 windshield wiper short

Under the column there is a huge multi wire flat plug for the blinker system. Them another with 5 wires. That 5 wire plug is the wiper system. Unplug it and see if the fuse works. If so, the problem is in the column or switch. If not, then you are still under the dash looking.

I have one of the 73-87 truck a pillar pods in the Cowdog. I like it.

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

I want pictures of it too. Colton keeps asking me for more. However, tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo. Which for most of the world means a foreign country holiday. To the 200 some students at my school it is a racial/gang/power thing. We have had lots of riot type events happen around this time of...

    Alt issue, not OEM.

OK, so you did not make the CS130 alternators isolated ground? I thought in one of your other threads you had. That being the case things get easier. If the alternators are next to each other, you only need to have factory wiring to the truck for one of them. This thread is about a Duramax...

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

I bit the bullet or actually, my credit card did and bought a Compushift II transmission control module. I got most of it wired up last week. Yesterday I started adding transmission fluid to the 4L80E. 2 gallons was all I could carry in for the 3/4 mile walk from the parking lot to my room...

    Alt issue, not OEM.

Since most of your wiring system is all experimental. Why don't you just go all the way and make it totally experimental? I think your truck is still a 12 volt truck with 24 volt starting? If so, then since you have isolated ground alternator. Do without the alternator indicator lights...

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

It is a new month so I can buy more parts. A/C compressor on the way. The wiper washer was not working because I am an idiot. The entire wiper control system works off the switch controlling the ground. Not the power to the motor. The power plugs directly to the motor. The switch on the...

WHERE TO RIDE IN TX or OK?

Of course you could also just wait for the next Rednecks with Paychecks in Gainesville.
