What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Fuel filter. [emoji106] Fine filter screen was good. Truck picked up a bit of power post filter change. I gather flow to the IP was restricted. Original filter looks to have a minor mfg defect vulcanizing the metal screen to the end cap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Finished reverse light installation. Tractor switch in 3 speed shifter reverse location. Clearance is tight inserting shifter in body with oversize switch. It may take some finesse. Took the opportunity to aluminum nutsert the gearshift bolt holes. Prestolite wiring and packard connectors...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Switched over to hardtop style windshield brackets. I prefer the better angle for the Xdoors. Moved the Plan B top forward a tad to accommodate the change in fitment. 12338833 5340-01-247-7812 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

X door to body alignment ?

I have original X doors on an M998. Currently well aligned to the striker pin and operating well. Looking to adjust the door to sill and B pillar gap as a few doors are misaligned. What’s the fitment guidance for gap to sill and B pillar? Eg 1/4”-1/8” etc? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Finished installing LT inside cowl insulation. It’s a bear of a job unless the tub is off the frame but it can be done. TM is a good reference and fairly complete. Note insulation piece must be cut in two along parting line per TM for retrofit or replacement on vehicle. Sent from my...

    Rear suspension spring help?

Old thread reactivation I know. Parts TM was a great reference when looking at replacement rear springs for my M998. My vehicle had sagged springs RF and RR. To my surprise the 12338316-2 spring is used in the rear for the M998 H13 UOC. Same spring is used in the Hummer H1 snow plow...

28-28.5 nominal range? I’ll be leaving it as is due to the seized plug. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    M998 Alternator adjustment

Pipe plugs suck. I measured alternator output voltage today 28V. The adjuster plug is frozen in place. Nice procedural video btw: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HMMWV fuel pressure testing and IP timing

Nice. I was thinking exactly along these lines of adding a mechanical gauge to the filter either at the pressure transducer location or the drain tap via a tee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HMMWV fuel pressure testing and IP timing

Q1: I suspect a lift pump failure on my 6.2. Looking to tap in a test gauge at the pump and/or filter. What fittings/where do you tap in? Q2: IP advance is set at the marks no additional advance. Are there less expensive ways to check timing eg an inductive timing adapter etc? Sent from my...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Had the tires balanced and siped. Les Schwab was able to statically balance with about 14oz or less. Dynamic balance was a no go as the machine called for up to 60oz. Hmm, i may have to get a set of balance masters/centramatic.
