Mine shakes pretty bad in the 600's as well. Take it up to 725-750. Made mine smoother. Of course, a new IP will make it really smooth. Keep that in the back of your head.
It has pretty much been covered. Just a few things to add.
Brake systems seem to all be bad or about to go on all M35 trucks. The more you drive it, the longer things last and work right. I had new everything in my Gasser M35 in 2008. I drove it 2-3 times a week and never had troubles. I...
My wife will ride in the 1009 and has even asked to drive it a few times. We were invited to go on a ski trip this winter. She asked me if we could take the 1009 instead of her Suburban. Amazed me because she has never even sat in one of the M35's and does not like to ride in, much less drive...
Is that the way it works? Long injector lines on short injectors, but not short injector lines on long injectors. I know one way will cross over, but the other won't. I have enough trouble getting some of my long lines on long injectors to line up and stop leaking that I haven't gone looking for...
You said it isn't tires, yet you describe a tire related vibration. Does it do the vibration power on and power off? Does it stop above a specified speed? You have new drive shafts, what about the ujoints? Front wheel bearings ok? Brake rotors round with brake calipers that actually...
You can pull the hub with the brake drum still attached. Makes things go faster and it is easier to turn the drums in a brake lathe if you are going to get that done.
Put a 7/8 on the injector and then give it just a hair more with the 3/4. If the injector moves, undo the line, tighten the injector and start over on the line.
Yes, that is the glass ball fitting. Any trash or gunk in there means the IP needs rebuilt. It is on top, has a rubber hose going...
I don't know about those lines Tom. I got 6 6.2's at the house right now and none of them have the lines on the nut.
1988 is when they were supposed to go to the shorter injectors across the production line. Those injectors need different injection lines than the older long injectors. I...
Estrum,
That line is loose at the injector. Use a 3/4 open end to just snug it a little bit tighter. Have you pulled the return line fitting from the top of the IP and checked to see if it is clogged? Clean that out if it is plugged and it should run great again. Of course, that being...
There is no need to replace anything until you take it apart and inspect all the pieces. A new bearing will fail just as fast as an old one if there isn't grease on it, tighten too much or too loose. Take it apart before you buy anything. Unless you just want to have a spare set sitting...
The early 101 trailers never got the same bolt patter as the M715. There was an adaptor made to mount the M715 6 lug on the M37 pattern trailer though. Only used 3 lugs on each side. Not really something you want to go far with.
People have put different hubs on 416 trailers so they match...
I just re read this entire thread. Except in the original post. Oil and internal engine faults are not mentioned. Just goes to show how these "junk 6.2" engines are so bad that none of us even thought about internal issues. We have all been concentrating on other parts of the vehicle that...
Um, Tanner. You do know that Tom, Spicergear, was the information source for that JP article, right? His truck, Velvet that he took to TTC in 2005 had that set up in it.
Tom in my opinion is THE SOURCE for all things fabbed and matched together. The first time I met him, he had just thrown...
I pull my 101 loaded down a lot with my 1009. The only thing that is hurt by the 3.08 gears seems to be top speed into a head wind with the trailer tarp on. No tarp, no problems. Top on and a head wind means some up hill pulls on pretty slight hills will be 52 mph with my foot all the way in...
