    M715's Good or Bad ??

Jeep panels plus and BJ off road have panels for the rockers. IFSJ.com will be your best source of cab body parts since they are the same as the FSJ's. Tom is right about the LU4 winch. Sounds like the farmer put a lot of fertilizer in the bed and had it on his feet when he got in and out.

Starting Four HMMWV engines in the can

The cans themselves are around 600 pounds. Those things don't slide very good either. This is one of those times you want the fork lifts of GL involved. If you don't have that help, I am not sure how you are going to load them. Something to think about.

    M1028 with (6) Michelin 395/85R20

I thought from the thread title that you had mounted the tires on the CUCV. It was one of those "I have got to see this" thoughts as the thread was loading up. You are using the truck as it was intended. Enjoy.

truck needs glowplugs even when warm???

The stock glow plug system is supposed to come on if the engine temp is below 125°. I "think" the WAIT light comes on if the engine is below 85°. Or at least those were the thoughts of the designers 30 years ago. What is actually happening with your engine depends on the state of the glow...

Is your pink wire on the IP plugged in and getting 12V?

    What to do (parts truck)

You are close enough to me that I can't not ask how much for the truck and turbo? PM me if you want.

    Deuce start up?

Mine has always needed a little push on the pedal to start. Hot or cold. Many filter changes, thousands of miles and no difference. I even bumped the idle up to 850 and it still needs it. Change your filters just to be sure they are good, but otherwise don't worry about it. Mine will fire...

m1008 lacking power at full throttle

It shouldn't bog, but every 6.2 I have ever driven seems to stop adding power about 1/2 throttle. So, there really isn't any point in pushing down that far. Maybe all the ones I have driven have problems too? Do as posted above. Fuel supply, fuel filter and air filter. After that it is...

    4th Semi-Annual Texas MV Rally

Kind of like at the last Rally in March. 7 or 8 of us were in the shade of the EM-50 talking about MV's (what else?) and a part or piece or something was mentioned several states away. Between us, we knew people along the way to get the part here. Only 5 or 6 hand offs involved. Really pretty...

    4th Semi-Annual Texas MV Rally

You guys got me wrong. I wasn't saying we should limit attendance. The more the merrier. I was just pointing out in a not very good way that a lot of MVPA types don't always get on line or feel the need to get on line by the hour like we do. They might not understand the level of addiction...

    4th Semi-Annual Texas MV Rally

That might be a good idea. However, while MVPA members might make up a good percentage of the SS active member family. SS members do not make up much of a percentage at all of the MVPA family. We in Austin with the LSMVPA are kind of unique. We might actually have 60% of the people at an...

    4th Semi-Annual Texas MV Rally

There are a lot of us MVPA types coming to the Rally. Most of us here started here and then went out to find the MVPA and local chapters. Not so many MVPA types go the other way.

m1008 voltage gauge in the yellow on start, is that normal?

When you hear the "deep clicking" sound your hear. Look at your volt meter. It should be moving up or down with the sound. The WAIT light just tells you when the plugs are "pre-glowing." They also "after glow" once the engine starts for up to a minute depending on out side temps and engine...

    M105 Inspection CHECKLIST

18 hours and no pictures. You are killing us here. Oh, just to add a note to the safety minded. Unless you have actually been out on the Staked Plains where this recovery might or not take place. You really have no clue of the desolation and emptyness out there. He is in more danger of...

    New Deuce and some Questions...

As you can tell. We all have our own ways. Change your oil, put in the amount listed on the data plate to bring it to full, run it, let it sit a while and then figure out what letter of what word is your cold check line.

    New Deuce and some Questions...

Measure 1-1/2 inches up the dip stick from the full mark and mark that some how. Is that about where the oil is? Unless you are pulling the cut off at the IP and putting in a clean stick to pull out right away, you really could just be reading the oil wrong. Mine just stays around the X in...

    Global Warming and Deuce Air

One more thing to add about the windshield open, everything else closed cooling system. Kenny showed Kwai, Sermis and myself that trick at the 2007 GA rally. We then drove the M35 25 hours straight back to Texas. We actually started getting cold during the night on I-10 along the Coast. The...

m1008 voltage gauge in the yellow on start, is that normal?

If the engine stumbles, it can only be caused by lack of fuel. Now, that could mean a fuel system leak or the pink wire at the top of the IP bieng loose and bouncing around. If those two check out, then you are left with a bad IP getting worse. I just put a new IP on a truck that would...

M715 spotted today on Austins toll road

Nope, wasn't me. I did drive it Saturday, but no closer than 45 miles from the toll road. Kwai didn't have his out playing that far from home as far as I know either.

    M101A1 Recovery?

Just to say it again. Check the bearings. I picked one up 2 weeks ago. I pulled the bearing cap on the drivers side, found nice fresh looking grease, a tire that turned easily and bearings that were adjusted correctly. No cotter pin however. I put some bailing wire in there so the nut...
