Where to get white wire for harness repair

Hey, fill me in when you know more! I'm getting ready to start this part of my transmission install as well. I did notice that on my TCM harness stub, all of the 18GA wire had heatshrink added for no reason except to bulk-up the wires and fill out the grommet. Makes me wonder if you really...

    What's your EUC wait time

My EUC was just short of two months. We've got guys right now getting first-time EUCs cleared in less than two weeks. It's rather surreal this year, but I believe everyone still recognizes that it's extremely abnormal. My SF-97 took another month and a half from vehicle delivery to arrive...

    Belt routing diagram (weak google-fu)

Yup, that's the setup I describe. Go here and grab the -20-2 maintenance manual: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?78861-TM-s-for-the-M998-series In the engine maintenance section, there's a topic that discusses adjustment of the power steering belts, followed by a section to discuss...

    Humvee trailering set up

I don't think there's an official adapter. I've seen several on eBay that look decently built, but I don't know what their true capacities might be. It might be possible to purchase and install an AM General H1 hitch receiver, but you might have to remove your pintle hitch to install it.

    Belt routing diagram (weak google-fu)

Your setup is the two pairs of V-belts-total of 4 belts, correct? If that's the case, the routing really should be very straight-forward. The short pair goes around the crankshaft pulley, water pump pulley, and power steering pulley. The longer belts goes around everything. Should be...

Remove remains of instrument light cover...

My instrument cluster was mud-packed, rusty, and rotten. I replaced my sockets, rehab'd the connectors for everything, and had to replace all of the brackets with fresh and new. After all that, it just seems that only the fuel gauge is finicky. All that said... If you can't get it out on the...

    Cooling upgrade system.

I'll wait for the results (I'm still NMC right now, so no point in getting in a hurry...) before I drop in my order, but thanks for the photos of your assumbly and the work you've put into it!

    Preparing for pickup (checklist)

This sounds like a great checklist of equipment to ensure is in-place before embarking on a mission in an issued HMMWV, but if this is a checklist for things to ensure a GovPlanet auction HMMWV has before picking it up, you're going to find that almost nothing will get checked off. Only thing...

sharing my hmmwv restore/ repurpose for civilian use

I've never enjoyed the realtree-style photographic camouflage, but I really dig everything else. You've set it up in a way that makes gloss look good on these. My HMMWV has far too many holes in it to think about going for a nice, pretty, glossy civvy paint job. The camouflage does wonders of...

    HMMWVs have CTIS anymore?

Yup, scoured my HMMWV last night and had no signs of CTIS. It was fun to look for and it helped me spot out a couple of possible leaks, so that was good and productive for me.

    Oil Pressure and Temperature - 2005 M1123

These questions are answered in the 9-2320-280-10 Operator's Manual. Going by the limits, the engine oil pressure should be "more than 6PSI" once warmed up at idle and "more than 15 PSI" when under load, but it shouldn't really exceed 50 PSI. I feel as if every auction HMMWV idles at 25-30...

    HMMWVs have CTIS anymore?

That seems to raise it as a more valid question then. I'll scour over mine to see if I had any fittings since I haven't really looked over my hubs yet. My rebuild method has basically been starting at the core and working my way out until I've done every bit of PMCS to know I can drive it...

    HMMWVs have CTIS anymore?

Actually, most HMMWV never had CTIS installed, period. This was something that I didn't know when I first started shopping for HMMWVs, but came to learn pretty quickly. It was primarily something you found on Hummer H1s, but a select few HMMWVs may have had CTIS installed if a commander had a...

    Cam fuel pump

He's right about not a big deal from everything I've read, but most leaks should also be easy enough to repair. A rebuild shop should be able to do the work for you for only a few hundred dollars if you have a competant local shop. You could also replace seals around the servo assembly on the...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

That must have been one of those DRMO returns. Probably from ISIS when they realized that the free truck wasn't worth the maintenance cost. I'm sure they rehab'd their fleet of 30 year old Hiluxes with new flags and extra truck be pedestals with all the money they saved.

    no data plate

I PMed the guy. He's probably really hating life right now and thought it would be better to offer him guidance instead of games of shame. Up to him how he works through fixing his mistake. Hope he can either put it to good use somehow or sell it to someone that can.

    CV boots

Found it. Did some flipping between the 24P and PartTarget. Looking for UOC A13, I can see that the inner boot is 2880016, or you can get the entire repair kit (bands, c-clips, boot) with 57K0274. The outer boot is 2880015, and its boot repair kit is 57K0275.

H1 Battery Tray fitment to HMMWV

I actually floated through the related parts on HPG and there were all kinds of components for a battery tray splash shield. That must be at least one of the possible solutions. Do share some pictures once you have yours all setup!

H1 Battery Tray fitment to HMMWV

That's actually pretty slick. If I didn't already have my battery compartment squared away, I'd consider that. Major downside I see is it looks like your terminals are going to get a lot of road spray and will need a lot of attention.
