I won't be selling anything at Gilbert, but if anyone needs something I have for sale in the classifieds, I can bring it up to them. I have plenty of ALICE packs, large and medium, maybe 300-400 left.
I set up the signs this morning, but I had to turn and burn. My daughter's day care is closed Friday, so I'll have to stay home until evening. I should be showing up around 7:30pm on Friday, will stay through Saturday late night at least.
Hope to see you there!
That's what I thought as well, but talking with Larry (known here as driver523), who served on the M37 gun truck Malfunction, he said that spare belts for the guns were kept in bins mounted on the side walls of the armor. Being that this was a smaller truck, if ammo cans were kept all over the...
I am buying a steel .50 cal repro from this guy, he also has a M101 looking howtizer listed on his website, looks as close to real as possible, cost is $8500, but if you're in the market for a dummy howitzer, there are few who can do it.
Bismarck Guns & Artillery
It's a Bitsa Jeep - made up of bitsa this bitsa that.
That's all the stand-up I'll do for now.
Anyways, that jeep really resembles one that was common in Four Wheeler magazine about 20 years back, in all the trail run articles and modification articles as well. I don't think this is the same...
I couldn't find a good deal on a working radio, but I did find a correct RT-524 radio that is relatively complete and needs testing/repair. I can do both, and I have the correct test gear for it, but fixing the radio will have to wait until after the Gilbert show. In the meantime, the radio...
Been painful on this end - waiting for parts to arrive is a PITA cuz it's slowing me down. However, some good milestones are past.
I FINALLY was able to connect with a couple gents who had the gun and radio parts I needed. So, the last of the critical stuff will arrive shortly.
A couple...
Heaviest load I worked with the deuce was a cargo bed packed completely FULL of wares pre-packed for Aberdeen (maybe 3 tons worth), and then I had to do a recovery of a deuce from Chambersburg, so towing 6.5 tons. 9.5 tons towed and loaded, let's just say it was SLOW GOING coming back to home base.
Excellent pics, Uglyranger! Nothing like close ups of the actual gun truck to show what's what.
Look closer in the second pic - see the slotted barrel support on the M2 Browning? Those are WWII-style Navy .50 cals, that were "borrowed" from the Navy. The Army and USMC ones all had circular...
It has been over 14 months since the Diesel brothers have updated this thread with information/pics of their adventures on the M819. I feel they might have either slacked off, or lost interest altogether. :(
Almost there, guys! One week to go. Plan on catching up with Cabell and seeing if there are any last minute things to do on the farm to get ready for the event. I plan on dropping down there Thursday only to set up the signs, but will be there all days Friday and Saturday. Sunday I have to...
I own an LMTV 4x4 that is a wreck, once I sell the gun truck I can afford to bring it back from Colorado. The few that have gotten out are rollover wrecks, fire damaged hulks, etc. They are still pretty new, and most of the good ones get rebuilt.
I changed my mind - and not for the worse. I have figured out how I can do RLW with ALL her guns, as her final incarnation was in 541 TC. I have found a source for excellent quality M60 replicas, as well as a full-blown M2HB as well. If you're gonna do a M37 gun truck, might as well go all...
x 2 on the gimpyroll t-shirts. First guy to roll a M35 at a SS rally, might as well commemorate it. Heck, I'm surprised he didn't put a picture of that in the writeup for the Supply Line article.
I'm in, see you all there....
