I went to replace the short oil hose on the bottom of the ip, found the one I had made still has the wrong fittings. So I tried tightening the one that's on there, and snap! Broke the connector on the hose.
So then as I'm crawling out from under the truck, I notice a bad spot in the sidewall...

At my house, the War Department diverted all manpower to the construction of a new chicken coop last weekend.
And there are parts sitting, waiting to be installed on the truck. If I get too many beers in me there may be a mutiny.
Last week I took the hose info from Parttarget.com for the smaller hose to a local hose shop to have one made up.. They didn't have the same diameter hose, and guessed at the fitting size. I guess no one carries that smaller diameter hose (which has a higher temp and psi rating.) Oddly enough...
Seems like any number of bad things might happen if that rear axle were to stop turning at speed. Who's to say which thing connected to it (or connected to something connected to it) would vaporize?
