I guess this qualifies, as over 5 ton. LVT4

That's awesome - I see one of those in my future - just not quite yet as she'd need a M123 and a lowboy to get her around!

Thoughts on running 12v Trailer Brakes on 24v

I am leaning towards the air over hydraulic option and will be putting the Maxxima 12-24v LEDs every where so that will be a non issue.... As for the brakes it is easy enough to do the math to correctly size the M/C to the W/C's Might just use an civy brake controller and some form of...

Thoughts on running 12v Trailer Brakes on 24v

I am also looking at going to hydraulic brakes and then use the air pack and m/c off a M200 trailer so I just use the gladhands on the rear of the truck for brakes... Maybe convert one axle and leave one - then it'll have both electric and hydraulic...

    2011 PNW Mini Rally #4

Brad needs to get back to train-land; he has OD fever for sure but you can just see his eyes light up when the topic moves to steam... It has been a bit sad to see the mountain dwindle over the last few years especially - there were a few projects I would loved to have taken on but funds and...

Thoughts on running 12v Trailer Brakes on 24v

I have a 66 M35a2c and tow a 79' zehman flat deck trailer with 12v electric wheel brakes - I am wondering if what thoughts you all have about using 24v to trigger the electromagnatic brakes - should work just as a 12v system does (magnet shouldn't care 24v vs 12v...) I was thinking about 3...

    2011 PNW Mini Rally #4

That bad boy with the missing radiator and the tow bar on it is a 5-ton but that'd be a good project too :? I need to take some more pics up there - I remember it in the heyday about 10 years ago when there was mountains of stuff! Matt

M2 HST Cletrac - the two that followed me home...

That'd be awesome - oh yeah btw - Shelby wants a Stollie in a bad way... I'll just give him a little shove under the bus ;)

M2 HST Cletrac - the two that followed me home...

Or Canadia... Plus I enjoy the protection of the King County Ecology Police... Seriously though - I want to get out to more events but as Stalwart can attest to my schedule is pretty thin on time here in town! I will give it my best effort! srodocker: He has another little dozer that...

M2 HST Cletrac - the two that followed me home...

Just like everything else I have - I like the history and the story behind them; they will definitely be out and about... And rides will certainly be in order... The plan is to get the green one running as is and then go after the one on the trailer for a full resto first... I will be sure...

M2 HST Cletrac - the two that followed me home...

Thanks! - It was a toss up with the girlfriend over the Cletracs and starting a weasel project - I figured the Cletracs had more gut pull for my first tracked vehicle - and I am intending to do a complete frame up resto so they will be nice pieces when done... Then it's weasel time! Matt

M2 HST Cletrac - the two that followed me home...

Ha Ha - yep; He wanted to sell both and all the spares. I have been working on it for a while... We've known each other for about 12 years now... My girlfriend sealed the deal though :D - they are pretty rad christmas presents from her! Matt

M2 HST Cletrac - the two that followed me home...

Ah yes - I forgot to add that the one with the grill guard on it is actually a movie star - was used in the late 1970's film "From Here to Eternity" - finally got a copy on something other that VHS and am making my way through it - all 295min of it

M2 HST Cletrac - the two that followed me home...

Hiya guys - I figured I would toss these in here since that seems to be the closest spot... I just aquired two MG-1's (M2 HST) a 1942 and a 1943... I am looking for the impossible - the rear air compressor and fender mounted genset both of which are PTO driven... Both of these tractors will...

    fail-proofing full hydro steering

I'd keep it simple - as noted there are 4 parts pump with reservior orbital valve hoses cylinder(s) Any source of high pressure fluid from a pump will work - if you are concerned about belts just use one of the 5-ton gear driven pump which will bolt up to the forward side of your injection...

Another M543a2 joins the big tire crowd - 16.00's are on...

More progress - off to pick up the wrecker bed today... Had to tighten up the loose hub for now - new seals on the way but not here yet... Replaced the forward rear axle pinion flange and seal - anyone know the OEM approach to sealling the pinion depth shim pack - it looked as though they were...

Another M543a2 joins the big tire crowd - 16.00's are on...

Probably right... but I'm the guy that likes to do things the hard way - just to see if they can be done... Home built reduction boxes for my rockcrawler, on board air compressor built from an AC pump with recirc oiling system, jeep 4.7l stroker that runs on LPG, homebuilt / recentered rims...

Another M543a2 joins the big tire crowd - 16.00's are on...

Oh trust me I know already - I use my duece to flat tow a 1962 406 Unimog over the mountain passes here (Stevens and Snoqulamie Pass) and it's on 14.00's - 35mph is doing well at times... The package is near 23,000lbs. I need to turn the pump up more but need a pyrometer first. But it still...

Well - made a little progress tonight - got the fuel transfer line secured with adel clamps and the reach rod for the power divider all blasted and primed... Got new gladhand seals and another body for the front emergency gladhand... Then decided to tackle the pinion seal leak at the forward...

5 ton rear axle seal fix procedure

By random chance do you still have to number or packaging for the two seals - need to do one of mine and was going to try and find the seals locally Thanks Matt
