She's a wrecker... So it's kinda chunky ;)
It's the older 5-ton medium wrecker bed - hydraulic crane with 2 lifting rams, and the rear winch has different controls than an M816 - basically it's the correct bed for this chassis
It's out in the middle of nowhere... Imagine a triangle between North Bend, Issaquah, and Maple Valley...
Hobart is in the middle - more or less south of North Bend east of Hwy 18...
And yes Ballard is just north of downtown Seattle (other side of Queen Anne Hill)
Not sure on the power for a few reasons...
A - Just put the tires on tonight and haven't driven it...
B - Never drove the truck with the 11.00's and the full bed...
C - She smokes alot and likely needs some pump, injector, or turbocharger TLC...
Otherwise my duece lost a bit when I went...
Been working on getting my wrecker cleaned up and in order. Got the rear half of the frame cleaned and painted - mounted up a set of 16.00r20's on 20 stud 5-ton combat rims and she sits a little higher now...
Gotta prep and paint the back of the cab then will put the bed back on and prep for...
Not the best pic of it but I have mine mounted to the rigid panel of the dropside bed - just one ear that the lunette eye slides onto and a basket for the legs... Works great...
Matt
Thanks JD - was going to put that up...
I moved them 4" apart and there is barely room for 14.00's - 16.00's are a little too big for the sheet metal...
I already had to trim the passenger step and slide the fuel tank forward...
Do a 5-ton - the 16.00's bolt on
Matt
For the fuel tanks I pulled the drains and flushed the crud out for now - settler and filters should do the rest...
My normal approach to lighting and other grounding issues is to do a full paint job and then spot face where the ground path has to enter the frame - everything either gets a...
Anytime I am in town is fine by me - the stuff is kinda split between Hobart and Seattle, working on building a shop up in Hobart but I poach time at the workshop in the evenings in Seattle... Just let me know
Matt
Nope - old school american iron - Enterprise RV-3 (17" bore, 21" stroke) they go to engine S/N 1 and 2 from 1962 - powering the MV Malaspina - one of the Alaska State Ferries...
I get to play with all sorts of fun old toys

I'm with Stuart on this one - they make some pretty cheap little 1/4 ton chainfalls and come-alongs that we use for the little stuff at work all the time - when it's too bulky to pick up gracefully but you don't need a huge hook... Plenty of places to hook off the bed; I would just weld a little...
Thanks Stuart - got to spend 6 days back in seattle before I went back up to Ketchikan but got the M31-c finished for the willys and installed a pertronix and 40,000 volt 3 ohm coil - runs and drives nicely now...
Matt
Thanks guys - I did use the late model H beam control arms and just ended up cutting them off set so there is only one weld - basically took 7 arms and made 6 from them. The steel is weldable - ended up using some 7018 and adding some 3/4" round bar splices in the web of the H - about 4" of...
I cut another set of control arms offset and spliced them back together with a section of 3/4" round bar as a gusset...
The factory are is 21" centerline and I made these 23" centerline netting 4" of spread...
Remade the drivelines using two t-case to rear axle drivelines and I am working on...
That'd be a rod from a marine genset - Diahatsu PS-26 - pretty small for what I usually work on...
Try these on for size
7k80MC-c container ship motor (2-stroke heavy fuel) The first one is the rod and crosshead - next is a little cam chain... the cylinder head and finally the liner...
As good a place as any to start... filter and fuel flush... pump was new in 06 when it was resurected from a field in McKenna... had been patiently waiting since 1996 - thanks any other ideas are good too...
Matt
The other thing that seemed odd was the fact that when it went dry there was 4...
I have seen plenty others taken to 3k with no issues - they are way de-rated from the factory... as the average end user is expected to treat the engine very rudely...
I have been having some issues with my M35a2 (1966 overhauled in 1989 with a multi-fuel and the C turbo) the last two times I have driven it... It seems to get off the line ok and run to 10 - 15 mins with the RPM's able to go to 2850 with no issues...
The last two trips were 200+ miles; and...
I am running 48's (14.00r20 michelin XL's) with both rear axles still... I lengthened the control arms to spread the axles 4"- As for the fuel tank it barely fits after being slid forward 1.25" - you can shorten the battery box door after moving the latch on top of the battery tray support (I...
