The thing with ctis, it's simple yes, but at $600 a seal it's not practical to keep dumping money into... 3 seals go out and you can just buy a "new" truck
Nope mine had it and worked. It was nice when I used it but said I would disable it the second it gave me trouble... I took it off this fall. But I have no less of a truck. So no I would say it's not a deal breaker because even disabling it isn't that hard.
Today before work got some progress!
Zerks all greased
5th wheel greased
Transfer drained
Differential fluid changed
freed and lubricated joints for transfer lever and the front axle engagement valve. Turned out to be the reason for difficultly to move
Checked the transfer for cracks since...

Got it in the shop today finally to thaw out. I noticed that the transfer case is extremely hard to shift, don't think that and the seal should be related, maybe just way out of adjustment. Also same situation with the tranny very stiff to shift. Thoughts, Im putting money on adjustment but...
Well she came home yesterday and she's got some tlc to do.

Are their tubes that work with goodyear 1400r20 at-2a with the run flat? I didnt think there were, but if so great I got 2 tires that lose air over a week
Interesting take, how did the extensions fit into the chassis, I imagine if everything was loose you had play to make it slide in, there are many ways to skin a cat, The fork lift was used to just drop in onto the extensions. we actually threw a chain around the axle and used a come-along, and...
I can check on mine I havent done any drilling yet, but I can say that with 12+(I think could, a couple less) grade 8 bolts its next to impossible that they would shear under the winches recommended 20k pull, even with a block and tackle; 40k wouldnt shear them. It takes 17k+ to shear a single...
Well guys busy week at the EMS garage with deer opener and the first snow/ice storm of the year falling on the same night, but I got up and got to her today! You can see that there is 2 brackets on the hood that are bolted the under frame of the hood we used those for lift points and it held the...
I recently picked up a complete winch with hydraulics and PTO from Castle Bravo. Huge shout out to him he packaged it like it was gonna go across Andes on the back a nomads goat.
I recently have been reading threads with a lot of questions and not a lot of answers when it comes to installing...
Well as some may know I won a M931A1! Now I can compare the 2 engines. I bought her for strictly water tending and grain hauling(most our fields are down bad minimum maintenance roads). But now I'm 1/3 the way to getting a tracked vehicle and when I get a drop deck, I can haul my one 5 ton...
Dont buy any oils or lubricants in less than 40 gal at a time, you will save a lot of money...in the long run, even more if you know mechanic that can get it for you for shop price. My 2 cents
Yep definitely talk to Jeff, find a truck you want and have him to a pre-bid check(Best $25 you can spend), you can do this for ever because $25 is better than a $3k dollar paper weight! Then when you win your truck talk to him again. Its a $100 dollars for him to take it off the base and hold...
