Ok, after changing out the starter and solenoid (I had extra on hand) and splicing in some new wires and electrical connectors (some were in bad shape and the wires had oil all over them, inside the rubber coating. Leaks do that I guess). I finally found that one battery and the kill switches I...
Ok, so I replaced the solenoid today. Turned on he lever and heard the buzzer, all gauges were working, and I thought "sweet, it is fixed". Pushed the button and "clunk" dead again. So I took out the starter and will replace some wires and put a different starter on this weekend, hope it works.
You aren't kidding, I paid $600 for it 5 years ago and it has paid for itself many times over (especially when I had my M1009). Probably the smartest investment you can make when you own an MV.
We've got to get together sometime in the next month to hang out (BS) and/or maybe work on someones truck. I will be gone Feb-Mar, but my truck and towbar will still be here if needed.
Lol, The one and the same PB, it is due for an engine overhaul next year after I get an M818 (I hope). $60? I swear Troy said he would give it to you..;) We miss you guys, hopefully we will be on the other coast again in a couple years.
So as I am driving to work this morning I stop to get some fuel. After finishing, i climb in the truck push the little red button and , click!, all the power goes out. WTF! So I climb out check the battery connections and, Click!. So I am pretty sure I have a bad starter. So instead of calling a...
My sister lives in an Apt building 2 blocks from where the USS Iowa will be in San Pedro. I plan on being there when it comes in. She lives on the 16th floor facing the channel where the ship will be docked. Can't wait. I went on the USS Wisconsin in VA and visited the USS Missouri and USS...
The M35 has had a good run but needs the engine rebuilt, the 2 rear diffs rebuilt and the brake lines replaced. So at this point it is cheaper to replace the truck and keep the spare parts and have a spare engine. I was looking at putting 1 light by the stack and one at the rear of the box...
Currently have convoy lights installed on my M35A2. I will be scrapping it next year and may be purchasing an M109. The question I have is has anybody mounted convoy lights on their M109? It doesn't look like they will fit between the cab and van body.
Thanks,
Did the local Veterans Day Parade yesterday with my VFW Post. There AF even did a flyover with a B-1B at 11:11.
There weren't many MVs But the local MVPA brought a few.
Las Vegas, NV will hold its annual Veterans Day parade on the 11th at 1100. It will be on the 4th st parade route (by Fremont st). I will be there driving my deuce for VFW Post 10047.
Has anybody used an engine stand like this to hold an M35A2 engine. I am looking to do a rebuild next year and am starting to plan now.
Folding Engine Stand - 2000 Lb. Capacity
