Wrecker Driver Towing Home War Trophy

I know this is a little off topic, but there is an F-4A Phantom II (one of the first half dozen) just sitting at MCAS Quantico, rotting. I’d be more than happy to refurbish it out of my own funds if someone could hook me up with a Chinook, CH-53 or Osprey to do the heavy lift. I promise to...

    Transmission service question

I used 90w Gl-1 that I got from NAPA. Went around and around trying to figure which one was best. aua Finally decided on GL-1 because that is what I took out, what has been used since before I was born and I KNEW it wouldn’t be bad. Would the GL-5 be a problem with the synchronizers? Got...

    Multifuel engine life

Thank you Jason, Westech and most especially Bjorn and David (sorry, I have my favorites). I love this thread and am taking notes. This is giving me lots of information in regards to my previous post on the typical lifespan of a Deuce engine. I learn more here than I ever could in the TM’s...

    Multifuel engine life

Thanks David, as usual, you are a font of information. This does give me some insight into what the lifespan of a multi-fuel can be. At 44,000 miles, I’ve already got what you reported licked. Since I’ve had to put in a clutch…I guess someone was riding it and the maintenance, while not as...

    U-joint phasing

I will have to check this weekend, but as I recall, the ends of the U-joints between the transmission and transfer case are slightly rectangular, making it so that you cannot get them out of phase. Kind of threw me at first because they look square. I never considered phasing. Thanks Bjorn..!

    Post beach trip maintanence

RE: Beach driving The North Carolina northern beaches (above Carolla) are much friendlier and less crowded. ‘Course getting up to them can be a chore. Oregon Inlet isn’t too bad, justr getting to the surf can be challenging, but its fine from there on out. I personally avoid Hatteras Point...

THIS CLUTCH TOO!!!!!UPDATE see last post

RE: Re: RE: THIS CLUTCH TOO!!!!! When we pulled my clutch, I went with a ‘take out’ 4 arm pressure plate from Murray for a very sweet price. He threw in a take out clutch (because he didn’t have any new in stock), but I felt it was a tad too worn. When I did get the new one, well I think the...
