What is the thickness of the clutch pads on a five tabbed Deuce clutch when new? I have a take out one that has, at most, a 1/8 inch of pad past the rivets. I saw several at Aberdeen that were for sale for what I consider stupid prices (over $50.00) that looked the same. What is the thickness...
Mine is through state farm...no garage, but a limit of 2,000.00 miles per year.

So, what is the "usual" lifespan of a multifuel (hours/miles)?
And is due to dirty oil or Soldier A or B saying 'close enough for government work', 'can't see it from my house', just not knowing any better or not caring?
Being somewhat new to all of this, only using my TOY Deuce 2,000+/- miles a year and watching it from sidelines, there is some stuff I wonder about...
Is changing the filters to pull at particles down to 1 micron REALLY necessary? Or is it just using available technology and using the best...
Personally I do not care either way and will leave the decisions to the ones who run the board (i.e- work) and the purists and revolutionaries.
I look at the classified section every day as well as through the new posts...somehow I’m always a day late, even though I’m not a dollar short...
I don’t want to hijack the current centrifuge thread, but I have a question for all of the Waste Engine Oil purists and not-so-purists.
Do you HAVE to filter it?
The first time, it wouldn’t go through a coffee filter…at least not anytime soon. I’ve read that some go to extreme lengths to...
I’ve been to 3 D.C. area Tractor Supply stores, a NAPA, a transmission shop and a heavy equipment maintenance dealer…no GL-1. In fact, most guys look at me like a dog does when you have a high pitched whistle…either that or I am growing a third head on my right shoulder. I found one guy that...
Re: RE: Clutches, Pressure Plates, Confusion
I thought the 3 arm/6 puck combo was for a 5 ton. Is that correct?
I agree with ACE and will likely do the 4 arm/5 puck combo, but am still confused about the clutch disk differences between Old Iron/American Military (White Star) and...
In perusing some of the different suppliers online, they do not all seem to agree with what each part number looks like. I looks as if RNJ Murray and Saturn buy from the same place and that Old Iron and American Military buy from the same place. However, that is where the two diverge…
Can I...
Well, dropped the tranny today…had to pull the seats and the entire tunnel and used the 4X4 through the windows method with a chain fall. Dropped down to a transmission jack (wouldn’t you know the Deuce is too high for the jack to get it the first time, has to lower it to it).
First thing is...
Beyond the millions of parts I typically need, I am going to probably be putting out more than I should for a clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and a spare tire plate (to hold/lift the spare tire. Since I will be putting out this moola, If anyone has these items for cheap, I’d be more...
