    CUCV quick lift question

Not running high steer due to clearance issues with the turbo crossover pipe. Just standard crossover steering. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

    CUCV quick lift question

Been talking with Chris at ORD. He recommended crossover to save the frame. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

    CUCV quick lift question

Pretty much the stance I'm looking for on the right. Crossover because I've seen so many K series trucks with cracked frames from limited or no trail use. I don't care for it as much for handling but I'm partial to keeping my steering box connected to the frame. Sent from my SM-G930T using...

    CUCV quick lift question

Rich, I do have a turbo crossover, I didn't think about that. I'm ordering my crossover steering kit from ORD, I'll have to ask if the regular kit will clear. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

    CUCV quick lift question

Hey guys, I'm down due to death wobble from worn leaf spring bushings. Figured I'd get my lift sorted out while I was underneath it. I want to run crossover steering to fix geometry issues that cause cracking. Summit has the skyjacker 4" lift and a superlift 3.5" lift. The superlift is...

Leaking Transfer Case - Best Kits for Repair

For those who were wondering, the square driveshafts are for off-road use only. Stronger than a circular one and easier to manufacture a slip joint into for changing on the trail. Not to say I haven't ridden to Taco Bell in the thing, dear God thats a rough ride. My gf always wants to take the...

Leaking Transfer Case - Best Kits for Repair

Yeah, l usually just eyeball it. If you really wanted to I suppose you could use the brakes to slow it down. Granted this is coming from the guy who's made and used 2"square tubing for driveshafts..... Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Leaking Transfer Case - Best Kits for Repair

Less safe but lift the back wheels and put in drive works too if the new ujoints are already in. Use stands, not a jack and a helper. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

    Top Speed for unmodified CUCV?

Haha, ok. They won't when used like 99% of people do, that's why they're such great transmissions! :D Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

    Top Speed for unmodified CUCV?

Up only. If that's the kit I'm thinking of (makes the tranny fully manual) downshifting will cause damage to the sprag from it freewheeling. Great for drag cars, not so good for on the street and towing. Nevermind, I looked up the kit. That's just a shift kit, so really doesn't help here...

Plus it's durable as can be. They'll take a lot of abuse and keep kicking. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

That's when it upshifts from 2nd to 3rd too. Crazy, huh? Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

    1986 M1009 - Fuel problem/Injection pump maybe?

If I get another 30 years from the new stuff, I'll call it a win. You can keep patching yours as long as you like. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

    Top Speed for unmodified CUCV?

You mean the shifter lever? Downshifting a T400 manually at high (engine) speeds is risky business. Can result in a broken intermediate band (decellerating), servo damage (decellerating), or even intermediate clutch damage (under load). That's just to the tranny, if you don't have a tach (why...

    Top Speed for unmodified CUCV?

Baton Rouge is in Louisiana, sir. We are in no way affiliated with that terrible state of which you speak. [emoji14] I used to live in Atlanta and would drive to Helen, Ga, Pigeon Forge, Tn, and Nashville, Tn occasionally. I would hate to do that with a heavy load and no turbo. Sent from my...

    Top Speed for unmodified CUCV?

****. I've turbo'ed mine but the most I've pulled is about 7500-8000 lbs across the Mississippi river bridge in Baton Rouge (only hill worth mentioning here). Was able to hold about 40mph without a problem. Stopping on the other hand..... that was a trick! Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

    1986 M1009 - Fuel problem/Injection pump maybe?

Considering liquid tape was patented 7 years after they stopped producing CUCVs (1993) and then again in 2006 for the newer more flexible formula, I don't believe it's been around long enough to have proved itself for long term repairs. My $0.02. 3M makes a product called "Scotchkote" that has...
