I'd guess a little lower on the weight of the batteries, I can install mine 1 handed into the truck. Maybe 35lbs each? Even still just 200 lbs on the front axle is a lot more weight (for tires, ball joints, steering components, etc.) Not saying it can't be done, just that it will accelerate...
I know Wikipedia isn't the best source for this but their dry weight for a 6BT (5.9L 12 valve) is 1100 lbs. I know these motors are considerably heavier than a big block chevy motor.....
And run various tools. Like a roboimpact impact wrench :D
You're in the CUCV Forum with all the purists. Try posting this in the CUCV Hot Rodding section. 12V makes starters and glow plugs easier to find and TS electrical issues a little easier (IMO, I don't notmally use the TMs) but it'll...
I haven't heard great things about the 6.2 mated to the sm465 as far as driveability. The 465 was ok behind a smallblock but I would want a 5sp with overdrive if I were going to a stick.
My $0.02

Ever consider a lunchbox locker? They're about $325 on eBay and won't ruin your 4.56 gears. Plus you can still drive on the road without worrying about snapping any axle.

Even if it is truly 7,000 I'd still guess it's a rebuild like ya mentioned. I've only seen about 20-30 Detroit motors but none were yellow, fwiw.

Yeah, especially for that. It's unlikely to suffer a catastrophic failure, clean it up, do inspections regularly (as you would with any trail rig...i/e every time it goes out) and if it becomes an issue, repair it. If it's not, don't worry about it as that's a lot of work for something that...
Personally, I'd get a wire brush/wheel/scraper, etc and a can of Rustoleum Rust Reformer (or if you have the $$$ Eastwood makes a great product as well). Knock all the heavy stuff off and coat is good with the spray then coat with a good spray paint (Rustoleum or similar) or undercoat. Stuff...
Had. It was broken on one side during a 1/4 mi race (hard 4x4 launch).
If the truck is unstable after the lift, I can always fab up a panhard or track bar to keep the axle in line. Not a big deal to thread/reverse thread a rod and slap a couple heim joints into. Still don't care for hydro on...
I've still got stock motor (replaced about 15,000 miles ago) mounts. I'm not looking to relocate my turbo piping at the moment and the high steer kit is ~$400 more than the standard crossover.
This is a picture from Chris at ORD. The banks turbo manifold uses an exhaust crossover pipe that runs below the motor. The high style crossover steering will make contact with this pipe during deflection of the suspension, something I'd like to avoid.

Yes, 1 ton frames are thicker. Still not uncommon to see cracked, I've repaired 3 or 4 in my lifetime, one had a brace and it cracked around the welds.
Daily drove an 06 Cummins with crossover and no hydro, not a big deal. I'm familiar with the pros/cons of the steering change.
