replaced all the fuel filters, couldn't figure out why my pump wasn't running when i tried to fill the canisters back up, turns out no one ever put a fuse in it, I often wonder how this truck ever ran after all the work my dad and i have done to it.

Okay, thanks guys can't wait for the parts to come in so i can get her running again. When i finished cleaning off the secondary I notice rust in the bottom of the canister, probably the reason why i couldn't open it to drain it. Is there a commercial canister or should i reuse it?

Thanks will do. Another note is it alright for the canister to be off for 3 days while the filter and gasket come, or should i just put an empty canister on.

Okay thanks guys from DH pictures its my secondary that I'm changing out so if the truck and obvious the pic is correct the filter I'm changing is actually the secondary filter but for some reason the canister "holder" its stamped primary? Any guesses on that reason? It would have been nice if...

Thanks mike, I think I have a "special truck", because the only filters i see one there is a primary and final(both next to each other on driver side.), no secondary.

Also, a noob question here on the driver side there is the primary and final filter canister, were are these secondary i keep reading about?

Not trying to play devils advocate, but isn't it a rule that if a vehicle was made before a law was passed you wouldn't have to fix itto make it legal due to keeping it historic. ex. a historic car without seats belts can be legally driven if it was made before the law was enacted.

Air wrench, air jack, air tool oil, chains, safty triangles, socket sets, pry bar, 5 gal. of oil and anti-freeze, blocking, clevises strech rope. I figured a truck with an air supply why do all that manul labor for changing a tire, when you can just let air tools do it,

yep, thats how i bought it with the title saying it was a chevy, but the weight is correct at 13,000lbs.
