    Did you take apart the oil pressure relief??? This is a MUST!! it's easy to do and you don't have to remove the cam to do it

    So I ran my MEP002 the other day for an hour it's been about 2 months since I ran it. Seemed smokier then usual. Ran it hard for 20 minutes and backed it off and still light smoke with no load. Seems to run fine and take 125% load no problem just smokey. It's doesn't bother me but it does...

    Picked up 3 MEP-802A gensets and will be documenting making them all runners ... Those bores are not good. There's not a good cross hatched pattern. The rings will not seat in property. Watch some you tube videos on how to hone maybe that will help.

    Take an old piston ring and break it now use the broken end and scrap were the ring-land grove in the piston is. Use that to clean out all the carbon and debris

    Your this far along you have to hone and and least put new rings so it's almost like a Freash motor

    It amazing that so parts of these generators are not really built well I have electrical issues with my from wires rubbing and terminal ends breaking
